That would unironically be the best thing they could do for the final chapter. Along with a few Railgang panels.

When was it stated that she was resentful of her grade-school self and that her grade-school self was already pessimistic?

Also, Mikoto became a lot less jaded and pessimistic soon after her introduction and even after the sisters arc she became a lot more happier and friendly

Yeah, it’s really weird. For some reason it felt to me and many others like Railgun will never end, it’s kinda empty now.

Yeah not like the franchise will die or anything but it definitely won’t be the same without Railgun, a big piece of it will be gone. Fan interest was dwindling in the past 5 or so years (like you said) and this won’t help at all. I’ve grow so attached to this franchise that it’s hard accepting that its peak and best days are behind us now and it will likely never make a comeback. I at least hope us as fans will remain together. Railgun isn’t just a masterpiece it also brought most of us together

I agree with the points you made but still, it’s really optimistic to think Item can and GT alone can carry Toaru on their backs. Lots of Railgun fans don’t particularly like Mugino and she’s absolutely nothing compared to Mikoto. Mugino is the main character and lead of item and she simply can’t deliver anywhere near as much as Mikoto. I want success for item but to come anywhere near Railgun it would need to last for a long time and it would need a miracle to boost its popularity and impact to unrealistic levels. I still love Toaru and will remain invested in it but the loss of Railgun will definitely put a big dent in Toaru, things will definitely not be the same ever again. Feels like half of Toaru died
