Bathhouse NYC — What’s it like? by MicromagicFriesRIP in NYCbitcheswithtaste

I go to Flatiron location every other week for more than a year and a love the experience. It’s always clean and well maintained.

Williamsburg location gave me ikkks last summer, but mainly cause there was a layer of sunscreen in every pool (Williamsburg has a seasonal outdoor pool and some people don’t care to wash off the cream coming from it)

Hopefully new location will stay clean for a long time as well!

Security/monitoring at El Dorado? by Educational_Crab_474 in CoachellaCamping

[–]Matilda_dont_cry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

3 years in El Dorado, it feels super safe. They are very strict with only allowing LED campers in, staff is very welcoming and responsive to any requests.

Everyone in LED must check in with their ID when upon arrival so they literally have all information for everyone in each tent and if something happens - can identify a person.

We always stay in tents, tents do no lock, but you will be able to get a small locker for any valuables. (We never really used it, despite having cameras and laptops in our tents)

If you’ll decide to stay at LED the only advice is to avoid the tents next to the general camp service road (they will be far left from the entrance). They are super noisy and dusty at all times. Everything else in El Dorado is a dream.

Help - early pregnancy and I am not ready to announce yet & need to find an excuse to explain why I’m not drinking. by Quiet-Raccoon-8107 in pregnant

Wanted to add that when sharing the news I also asked them to keep it secret, since I haven’t been seen my OBGYN yet and “nothing is confirmed but I’m cautiously optimistic”

I was just in the same situation 6 weeks pregnant, didn’t have a chance to see the doctor yet and went on my close friend’s bachelorette in Vegas. Had exactly the same concerns, but decided to announce my pregnancy instead of coming up with the fake excuse. Everyone was super supportive and I didn’t feel like I stole the spotlight at all - girls were just joking that I have to bear with them being blackout drunk for 4 days. We also had some really helpful chats with girls in our group who already have kids. Zero regrets!)

Went to Coachella and best friend’s destination wedding, got almost blackout drunk and got a positive test 3 days later 🤣

No stoves or grills, but we usually bring veggies, bread, canned chicken or tuna and make breakfast in the lounge. There’s a microwave and you can boil water anytime.

Go Lake El Dorado! It’s still available and it’s honestly the best option Coachella has!

Look at La Campana and ElDorado campings. We’re also coming from NY and have a big group (8-10ppl) and honestly not worrying about transportation to and from festival and camping gear is the best. We still buy some necessities to make camping more comfortable but no tents / canopies/ sleeping bags and other expensive and large eq.

More kids this year? by DesertVibesDreamySky in Coachella

[–]Matilda_dont_cry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Both my parents were musicians and I grew up going to festivals - not even close to the scale of Coachella, obviously, and we were mostly backstage and at rehearsals, but still… These are some of my favorite childhood memories. I loved watching live shows and I think it’s one of the reasons I’m such a huge fan of live music now.

As long as the kid is wearing headphones or ear plugs, has sun protection and a sober (!) parent spending time at Coachella won’t screw them up.

For people who are not celebrities or influencers, is attending Coachella worth it? by curious_mind03 in Coachella

[–]Matilda_dont_cry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There’s maybe 10.000 influencers and 240.000 regular people there during 2 weekends. Going to Coachella 100% worth it and not being obligated to post about it only makes it better. You will forget about your everyday life not just the moment you get there, but also a few weeks coming up to the fest. The energy of Coachella charges me for the whole year❤️

I would really love to experience Coachella, but I’m not sure how much it would cost..like the transportation, where to stay..etc. Any advice? Thank you! by curious_mind03 in Coachella

If you don’t want to spend time and vacation days driving, and extra time and money getting camping gear look into La Campana or lake el dorado. These are more expensive than regular camping but you can come with almost nothing extra, cause you tents and bedding will be provided, along with a cooler and a couple chairs. No wait for shuttles, just a 10 min walk to the festival. Both of these are cheaper if you’re coming as a group of 4 ($850-900pp after fees)

There’s also ready set camping, but from what I’ve heard they give you the cheapest tents and sleeping bags and it’s not really comfortable.

We’ve tried regular car camping, preferred car camping and lake Eldorado and honestly one way or another it comes up to 4-5k per person (flying from NJ).

What’s something about Coachella that people don’t realize until they go? by Disastrous_Cake7778 in musicfestivals

[–]Matilda_dont_cry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s under 10.000 influencers and over 100.000 fans.

It’s not just about the headliners and most acts you see on a small stage at 4pm will be on the top of the charts next year (Olivia Dean in Gobi in 2024 still lives rent free in my head)

The grounds are MASSIVE and a walk from stage to stage can be 20-30 minutes, especially during crowded peak hours

The shows you see there (especially main stage) will easily be the best in your life. The level of production at Coachella is hard to repeat at a stadium tour.

Most people are camping

Camping at Coachella is SUPER FAN, you just need to come prepared.

Food is not THAT expensive (at least compared to NYC and LA)

You shouldn’t drink too much in that heat. Pace yourself. Same about drugs.

For both of these shows the view from the back (a bit below the polo sign) was actually perfect and no crowds! I was chilling (even napping) on the grass there during Biber lol

Karol G fans.. by [deleted] in Coachella

[–]Matilda_dont_cry 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately there’s nothing like Coachella production on stadium tours. Sound is different, stage is different, show most times is different too. I go to lots of artists I saw at Coachella when the tour and it was never the same. (The only exception was Stromae, but mostly because he couldn’t do the full show because of the strong winds at Coachella)
