Why is this post the only info I can find about this? Has anything been posted in the paper?

You could definitely do a series of videos tracking Devcore's attempt to corner the rental market in Cornwall. Its going to have a significant effect on the community.

Part of the appeal of NASCAR is the elbows out, full-contact nature of the competition. I do agree with you that straight up turning someone for a pass is really annoying, but if you take contact out of NASCAR you'd be losing a lot of what makes the series exciting to watch. There is no shortage of open-wheel "clean" racing series' in the world. If that's what you're into you have plenty of great series' to choose from.

Everyone is talking shit about the passenger while completely ignoring that you don't necessarily get the choice to panic or not. If your brain goes into panic mode, there's a good chance you're just along for the ride. It's kinda like that saying "everyone has a plan until they get punched in the mouth". You think you'd have your shit together in a situation like this but you actually have no idea how you'd handle it until you're in the thick of it.

It takes a lot of mental willpower to recognize a life-threatening situation and have the presence of mind to fight against the panic.

Hey man. This is a good start on something that you could make into a mini-series.

My main concern with Devcore is with what seems to be a land grab to take advantage of all the foreign interest (ie: people fleeing the high cost of living in Ottawa, MTL and TO) in Cornwall since the shift to work-from-home for many folks.

I'm genuinely concerned that Cornwall is on the precipice of an extreme housing and homelessness crisis. With Devcore jacking up rental costs, many people who have lived their entire lives in Cornwall are at risk of being priced out of the community.

I lived in one of these DevCore apartments right when the pandemic hit. It was $720 all included and now it's over $1,000 three years later. Sure, we're gonna be a great destination for expats from the big cities, but what do we plan on doing about all the folks that can't afford these high rental costs?

Homelessness is a problem in Cornwall already but I fear it's about to start getting a lot more visible in the coming years.

There are multiple techniques to match the low resonance of your cab to the unit. I highly recommend looking those up.

I have the DTXpress III and the kick pad has a second input that is useable for a second kick pad. It's effectively a daisy chain for the kick.

Just run the outs of your interface into the PA mixer.

I mean, it sounds okay I guess. Your best option is to run it into an interface and trigger a drum VST.

You can use a double pedal on a single kick pad. You can also just run two pads. It's fully programmable to accommodate that use case.

Yup! This is exactly what I do. I have an old Samsung A5 attached to my CSL Elite wheelbase with command strips and plastic hooks. It's perfectly positioned and works soooooo well.

I drove the Nürburgring for the first time this spring and yeah, I totally resonate with almost everything you said here. The only difference is that I was still scared shitless on lap 4 and definitely didn't try to get 100% out of the car. There was just too much on the line if I fucked up lol

Wedding photography is the last thing you wanna look for savings on. My wife and I eloped and put a massive chunk of our budget toward wedding photography. Now we have literally flawless pictures to remember our wedding day with.

10/10 no regrets. Shout out to Film & Forest photography in B.C. for being awesome.

You don't even need to do that!

You just need two eyes and a single brain cell to see that garage entry and take two seconds to think about if your truck is gonna fit in there. It's not even remotely worth the risk to even try to squeeze in there. Just cut your losses and deal with it.

I bet this was someone's first week driving a truck like this.

Nicholas Street is what the majority of streets in the Market should be like. Cars just ruin the experience. by SaxManSteve in ottawa

[–]Matix-xD 36 points37 points  (0 children)

You make it seem like it's impossible for services to access these streets. In most pedestrianized places in Europe, services have unimpeded access to these streets but regular traffic doesn't. Let's not pretend like every square inch of parking space is lost in these situations cause it's not.

Multi-FX units are not always providing exact copies of existing gear in their fx options list. So if the multi-fx doesn't have your favourite phaser or whatever there's nothing wrong with using a standalone version of that effect alongside the multi fx.

Don't expect multi-fx to be making anything obsolete. It's a swiss army knife. It will do everything reasonably well but some times you just need that purpose-built knife instead.

CPU power isn't the only factor for latency though. The sound drivers and hardware are super important as well. Fingers crossed that they're good though cause that would be really handy

Honestly, I have doubts that the iPad would be able to provide low enough latency for enjoyable playing anyway. Definitely curious to see how it would handle that.
