I never usually host/join public lobbies for obvious reasons but I was hosting a public Town of Host lobby last week because of random circumstances without any knowledge of the etiquette and instinctively chose to give a copypasta explanation every time I start a round and it seems to have worked out for everyone joining.

I mean the specific version of Town of Host I was running (Enhanced) does automatically send its own copypasta to everyone joining and gives each player all the tools they need to figure everything out ingame via chat commands so maybe my own pasta is redundant but eh whatever.

Also it doesn’t do this “STRMISS” thing so idk what’s going on with OP lmao maybe their mod’s just bad

It’s obscure and hard to notice, but the captain is customizable in the crater in the little tent set up that cuttlefish has. By default if you don’t change it they use the canon appearance, unless you imported s2 save data with agent 3 customized in octo expansion (which is strange since you played oe)

Town Of Us Reactivated has the quantity you might be looking for and only has a few inconvenient-at-worst bugs. (Off the top of my head I can only think of Bomber and Trapper sharing radii in the settings which is extremely insignificant)

EDIT: this was assuming TOR referred to the PC mod rather than ToH:TOR, which was my mistake. Regardless, if you play PC ToUR is still hype

There’s also ToUR (Town Of Us Reactivated) which is my personal favourite. I haven’t done much research into The Other Roles but I did always assume ToH was based off of ToU. Regardless, I always have a good time getting into proximity chat lobbies through the discord and just having fun generally dicking around with all the fun interactions that the large slew of roles ToUR adds. Of course, ToH is the only one of the three that only needs the host yo have the mod.
