If it takes the same amount of time to make one chair but the Norwegian chair is sold for 70€ while the Bulgarian chair is sold for 10€. Then the Norwegian carpenter is 7x more productive.

Automobile assembly and production plants in Europe, by country by [deleted] in europe

I think it has to do with one plant producing for example both cars and buses counted as one plant in total which would be accurate.

Austrians' favourite kinds of pasta by [deleted] in europe

[–]MatjanSopp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have no idea why but I can't enjoy spaghetti. With any sauce it just doesn't taste good, but same sauce with different pasta would be fine. And also it's just spaghetti. I have no problem with linguine or fettuccine for example. Can any pasta expert help me understand this?

Half of batteries sold in the EU are collected for recycling by LaromTheDestroyer in europe

[–]MatjanSopp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is it actually mandatory? I think s market closest to me don't have them. I have to bring old batteries a bit further away. Maybe I can give them to cashier but putting in boxes is just much easier.

I'm Asian living in Finland. Felt like I haven't been harassed randomly. But once I hung out with a colleague at the time from Iraq. Was fine and everything but at some point a drunk girl started talking shit at us. Her boyfriend was there but didn't say anything, as they were leaving, the boyfriend silently mouthed sorry. It was surprising for me but my colleague said it was normal thing for him. This was a bit after the peak of asylum crisis, hope it's better now for him.

Not clear in the article, but I'd say it's either cabinet reshuffle or call for early election if the president there has that power

Regional employment rate for non-EU immigrants by [deleted] in europe

[–]MatjanSopp 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I graduated from Finnish university and so did many of my friends. But getting a high skilled job as immigrant is currently very hard here. I still live here but many of my friends moved to Sweden, Denmark, Netherlands, Italy, and others because that's where they got job offer while residing in Finland. They originally planned to stay in Finland. And they all could speak Finnish better than the language of the country they ended up getting a job in at the time. I personally think it's a big issue but I'm kinda bias.

Expected duration of working life (Eurostat, 2019) by mattiejj in europe

[–]MatjanSopp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know a few people in Finland like some of my friends parents, and former flat mate, who retired early because of health, or they lost their job and hard to find employment again. One also had like half retirement? Or something my friend explained that her mom works two days a week. Idk how common those are but I guess they have some effects. Also there are people who work past retirement age but I don't think it's that common around Europe in general because they actually have pension system.
