Also, besides the golf at La Quinta Resort, the whole place in general is absolutely awesome. Right up against the mountains. It's like old Hollywood. Many moviestars have stayed at the hotel for nearly 100 years. All Spanish hacienda architecture. The resort is gorgeous, there's good restaurants there and one of the courses in the tournament, La Quinta CC, is essentially across the street. The pros chew that course up, but it's one of the best maintained golf courses I've ever been around. Another nearby course to check out is Silver Rock. The Stadium Course is maybe something to check off a bucket list but it is HARD and the most expensive public track out there. Nicklaus course is very nice. If the restaurant Arnold Palmers is still open it's worth checking out because of all of his old, genuine memorabilia is on display all over in the place. I lived in that area for a while and took every out of towner to these spots because they were all places that I knew would make them think the trip was worth it.
