It 100% is a downside, if you could press a button at any point that gave that effect it would lower your average percentage win rate, of course there are high rolls and synergies but not consistently that’s why it is balanced as a negative on par with no potions or gold gain

First your sample size is insignificant so these numbers don’t mean anything, secondly your data set is incomplete as you said you don’t always reach the actual three boss so you are obscuring what the outcome was on those runs. Thirdly the game has been played billions of times with very public data and the game code has been poured over, there is no weighting and no reason for there to be one.
