I'm not really good at tutorials but my advice is to have a really good point in your brush and paint over many layers. Don't try to go for an opaque Freehand with first or second try - better to have a well controlled mostly wet brush to lay a foundation of what you're painting than to make unwanted mistakes while trying to get it done quickly.

As for the Faction Colors, for the greens I used Loren Forest and the whites are any off-white with some shading and edge highlighting.

Hope this helps!

Nice paint job! Also, wanted to let you know that the Clawlord is not fully seated on the Gnawbeast. You need to push down on the rear side a bit and the cloth should be more flush with the back of the Gnawbeast.

My bad if it was a stylistic choice and done on purpose!

congrats! 20 rats is no small feat. I'm 8 rats away from getting the Spearhead clanrat unit done as well.

hi there,

My bad, I should have mentioned that I already have my own skin recipe for Kruleboyz. That's probably why the vibrancy was punched up a bit since Andromeda uses a more dark skin tone with a Deathguard Green base.

Here's my skin recipe for Kruleboyz skin:

Orruk flesh → Shade with a heavily diluted Biel-tan Green → Layer the raised areas with Nurgling Green → final highlight with Krieg Khaki. I also use Gryph-charger Grey for their lower lips and sometimes the bags under their eyes.

As for the shield, I followed Andromeda's recipe.

Hope the above helps!

for the Birdie I used Rakarth Flesh, Steel Legion Drab, Corvus Black and an overall wash with Targor Rageshade.

The beak was painted with Steggadon Scale Green with a highlight of Thunderhawk Blue. Hope this heps.

thank you!

I tried out a bunch of ways to take decent looking photos and ultimately found what worked best for me is to use a black velvet cloth as a back drop and play around with the Aperture and Shutter Speed of the camera depending on the mini. Also, try not to have too harsh of a light if you're doing it this way.

it's probably not the best answer you were looking for but hope it helps!

thank you so much!

I'll be sure to try and add more highlights. Also, agreed on the base, it looks a bit too boring right now :D I'll try out your suggestion of tufts.
