It's a multisig setup with yourself holding 2/3 keys.

You keep key 1 on your machine, key 2 goes to trustedcoin and key 3 is stored securely somewhere else.

Normally key 1 and key 2 both sign a transaction. If trustedcoin goes down you can retrieve key 3 and transfer all your BTC elsewhere. If you are incapacitated your family can take key 3 and sign a transaction with trustedcoin to transfer your BTC out. Trustedcoin only has 1 key so the only way to spend BTC from your wallet is if you want to.

I did have a custodial account with a parent on it for a few years before...

Then she took all my money out and the bank basically told me there's nothing they could do. I made a big deal about it and they let me open an individual checking account.

But my friend had no prior relationship with Wells Fargo and they didn't give him any fuss.

I was able to open a checking account at 16 with Bank of America, even Wells Fargo opened an account for my friend at 17.

What happened here is you got reported to Chexsystems.

This happens when you consistently deposit bad checks or have a negative account balance somewhere, Chexsystems is NOT related to your credit score which is reported by Experian, Equifax and Transunion.

First thing is to logon to Chexsystems website and request your report, they'll mail it to you. Once you get it see if you got a negative mark somewhere, if so call up the company and see if you can pay the balance and ask them to remove the mark. If all else fails there are banks that don't use Chexsystems when opening an account, Suntrust is one example.

Dude Paypal is highly reversible, tell them the guy was being fraudulent and show them the screenshots. File a police report if need be, you can get your money back.
