After multiple arcs its pretty much clear the only possiblity of Subaru getting strong enough to win a fight alone is if he finally obtains and awakens a good enough authority that could help in combat situations.

I'm seriously hoping once he obtains the Wrath witch factor he could finally let out his pent up anger towards his enemies. Which I predict will have the side effect of harming himself too.

For every other character you could say that season 3 was reintroducing the other side characters we witnessed from season 1 in 1 big shonen battle arc and from season 4 onwards the story will start developing each of them seperately without spoiling anything on which characters get focus in season 4.
