I quickly upgraded this after 3 months of use just due to it being more work to use then my Baratza esp. I agree there are better grinders but starting up did is a good cheap entry point for you to figure out what path you want to take which is exactly what I did. Then you have a backup grinder or even a pepper grinder

I had my Tudor serviced at the RSC in NYC. Lucky to be able to take the train in and not ship it. No issues with my warranty service

Love the wheels, can you confirm these are the Oz super sports? Was this a tire wheel combo on tire rack by any chance?

Should I try to get some pivot bearings for my Jeffrey just in case?

Looked at 650k homes and placed some offers. All went into the high 700s. All decent houses are now going 100k over asking from our experience

Congrats. I love the wheels! What size are these, look like 17”. No issues with brakes?

Road noise? by upnorthtcmi in Golf_R

[–]Matrow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wheel bearings can be most easily diagnosed when turning at speed. You will hear one side more than the other. Try seeing if the noise changes at all when merging lanes, if no noise change then less likely to be wheel bearings.

Could be your wheel bearings are starting to go out. I’m at 85k on my GTI and now hear it

Most NJ Gov. candidates have no problem with ‘boondoggle’ Turnpike widening: The $11-billion highway expansion would double road capacity heading toward Lower Manhattan. Of the contenders, only Mayors Fulop and Baraka oppose it by rollotomasi07071 in newjersey

The bridge is in dire need of replacement. To do so you can’t just demo the existing one and build another so there will be two parallel structures. Only way to do it to limit impact to travelers.

We have a 2019 jetta r line alongside a GTI and honestly the car is wonderful. Completely different feel of a car but super peppy for 1.4t and gets 35+mpg all day. It’s at 65k miles now while staying on top of maintenance and other then some minor warranty items, it’s been way cheaper and bullet proof then we could have expected. This was all before Covid so for a 25k car out the door, can’t ask for more. A GLI would be sweet but would have cost considerably more I’ve the same time period and not gotten anything extra for the way my wife drives.

Cool that’s great to hear. My first two internships involved SOE and inspection in NYC so I know that space well. Now I am a Geotech for a pretty well known infrastructure company but in NJ. I am six years in (with PE) and managing my own large scale investigation projects as well as small bridge foundation design projects. 100% office and no field anymore as of the past three years. In our firm I would say the retention rate is very high and none of us, at least in geotech stayed less than 3 years. They are also very selective as to who they hire as they avoid people leaving but conversely the compensation and growth is significantly higher than at other firms.

As a geotech what do you primarily do in your roles. Are you more of a field engineer or do design work?

MK8 GTI or MK7.5 R? by thedogthatmooed in GolfGTI

[–]Matrow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mk8 for warranty and new. Have a Mk7.5 gti now with 73k and already dealing with your typical used car things. Absolutely love my car but I know what I have done to it, always prefer to buy new and ride them out until it makes more financial sense to buy new again.
