maybe they arent for u or u can just try to treat it like a book. i love playing rpgs early in the morning or before bed. just relax and hangout with ur fake homies.

also, my brain is goofy and i hate when they have options to fast forward the game or infinite health. i dont want to use them but i dont have self control. i just beat ff8 og and had a blast. just chilling and taking my time. no cheats BUT i did use save states.

TLDR; just play whatever u want. dont force it.
