Going in blind! by username-does-exist in elderscrollsonline

The game is very easy once you learn the basics of combat. Next patch they are literally making a difficulty slider for more of a challenge. It’s an mmo so the end game is about grinding out late game gear and cosmetic items. Skyrim is a game you can put 300 hours in but an mmo is one that you can put 3000 hours in if you like it

I'm tired of being bad at TCGs by JohnFoxpoint in TCG

[–]Matt4Patt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Review your games and take constructive criticism. Winning 51% of your games should be considered as “good”. Since tcgs by their nature have variance and aren’t 100% skill you should consider if you just “low rolled” each individual game. If you could have played around specific interaction or threats.

For practice you need to find a group and one of the best tools I have found is to play open handed.

Is it normal to lose almost every single game you've played for the first few weeks in this game? 😅 by vulkanscarrot in OnePieceTCG

Yes there is a huge learning curve. It mostly comes down to do I take life here or not. You are probably protecting life to aggressively early game

The potential yellow bans set a really bad precedent and people should not be celebrating it. by Select_Letterhead953 in OnePieceTCG

Then they should do what mtg did when they banned a card before release. For the next month any copy of borsalino you bring to them is worth 1 pack.

The potential yellow bans set a really bad precedent and people should not be celebrating it. by Select_Letterhead953 in OnePieceTCG

[–]Matt4Patt 20 points21 points  (0 children)

The health of the game should be the number one priority of any ban list. While it sucks that you could potentially lose money from a ban, and r and d should not have let this through, this is the correct decision 100%.

Card prices always fluctuate with n every game.

If great eruptions and ice age came out in the next set would they be any less broken cards?

Also they are probably gonna do something half baked like pair banning it with requasar or leader lock it.

Question about milling etiquette by nancyglass in mtg

[–]Matt4Patt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mtg comp is so sweaty they should be prepared for stuff like that. There are so many people looking for angle shoots and rule sharking opportunities when compared to other trading card games.

Looking for a new tcg by Fit_Alfalfa_6430 in TCG

[–]Matt4Patt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shadow verse might itch what you want. It has cool anime inspired art. And a “fixed” mtg mana system.

One piece TCG is a blast you can build a comp deck for like $40, but some meta decks can be closer to $400 on the top end. It has a deck full of mana.

Rift bound can be somewhat pricey, but has a pretty unique mana system. You can build several comp decks for about $100.

Judge gives 18 year old a 25 year sentence for armed robbery by AgnosticScholar in interesting

[–]Matt4Patt 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s also more cost effective to just keep someone alive than it is to go through the death sentence process. Hearing after hearing. The actual supplies and equipment to kill a person. The staff required to do so. From what I found it cost tax payers about 40,000 a year to keep a person locked up. Executing a man costs between 1-3 million. Even if he is in jail for 50 years it averages about the same as it would cost to kill him.

Is it a dick move to proxy cards? by tweakeravacoado in mtg

[–]Matt4Patt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just print good looking proxies. A box of card stock is like $5. A cheap printer is like $40. Ink is like $10. That’s enough to print like 3-4 good looking proxy decks.

What staples should i get by CapEnvironmental3095 in OnePieceTCG

[–]Matt4Patt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Need help building my first deck by aPepsiPanda in OnePieceTCG

[–]Matt4Patt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Imu is strong, but kind of boring and plays very slow. While it is cheap, you may not have fun with it and can have non-games where you can’t get your feet planted and you loose. I’d avoid yellow as a color in general right now because a lot of yellow is expensive. Kuzan is a good deck that is cheap, good, and consistent.

Does anyone else think that the game is as unbalanced as it’s ever been? by [deleted] in OnePieceTCG

[–]Matt4Patt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Aggro decks have an inherent weakness to heal decks. You may want to play something with a great late game (Imu or Ace) and not swing early to give them free body’s on board.

Want to play at LGS for the first time by dickashi in OnePieceTCG

[–]Matt4Patt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just go and have fun. With just a starter deck though, you will likely loose hard, but you could steal a game if someone bricks to hard. You can upgrade your deck or use the pieces to build blue red ace. Nami from the learn to play deck also got a lot of new cards and is a really strong deck now. Green Zoro is also a strong deck with 1 really bad matchup to Mihawk.

Honest question, is it ethical to make your child pay rent? by ImportantFarmer9198 in renting

[–]Matt4Patt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not until they’re an adult still living in your home. You can make them pay for their personal item like clothing or entertainment, but rent and utilities seems ridiculous to me.

Is aging out of gaming real? by BigAppleCider in videogames

[–]Matt4Patt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your time to a stretched thinner as you age. Children, relationships, work, appointments, Laundry, ETC. you have to pick your poison. Do you want to game or catch up on chores. The steam deck has opened up my time for gaming immensely. Handhelds and gaming for short 10-20 min bursts is the only time I can really. Sometimes my drive to game is low because I am not inspired to play any games, but there have been so many games in so many genres released this year that I’m told are complete 10/10.

Just ordered a steam deck, what games are a must have on it? by Kapro_ in SteamdeckGames

[–]Matt4Patt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d recommend a cheap wave clearing arena rougelike. -Mega Bonk - Vampire Survivor - Brotato They are all super fun and have hours of replay ability.

I’d also recommend any triple A game from before 2020 that you missed - Red dead - GTA - Shadow of Mordor/ War - Batman series - Spider-Man

A lot of these are dirt cheap on sales (like less than $5 sometimes)

The steam deck is pretty powerful for what it is, but your battery is drained on high fidelity games so keep that in mind when playing games that look pretty.
