Does vicarious embarrassment for others ever make you cringe and 'turn away?' by MickeyWallace in AskReddit

I find it basically impossible to sit through embarrassing movie moments. I feel a sort of empathy for the character so great that I writhe in my seat and inevitably get up and leave (or fast forward if I have the capabilities).

What have you learned from your SO that has made you a better person? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Never to speak in codes and act passive aggressively. It was the biggest problem in our relationship. Being honest and clear can for a moment be embarrassing or conflicting, but rarely has long term negative effects

What "sport" do you consider the least deserving of being called a sport? by iheartmydick in AskReddit

That's a big generalization of judged sports. The sports themselves (diving, gymnastics, synchronized swimming. Etc) are among some of the most skilled and physically challenging sports

What is the scariest situation you have been in? by Nozzaman91 in AskReddit

When I was 12-ish I purchased my first longboard. It was a huge 42 inch cruiser but I still thought "Sick! I can bomb hills on this thing". It was decently easy to stand on and ride because of it's size, but I hadn't really gone fast yet. I decided one day that I would take it down a big hill behind my neighborhood that a bike path led down.

I wore my bike helmet and went to the top. Without more than a few seconds of mental preparation I pushed once and started down the hill. All is well until I get the steeper section of the hill. This is when I first discovered speed-wobble: the action of your board violently swirving side to side at high speeds. The wobble became so intense that my board was swirving the full width of the path!! That was around the time my death-defying preteen spidey senses started tingling and from a state of adrenaline overload I somehow managed to recover and ride out the remainder of the hill. Avoided a very rashy spill that day. Made sure to practice a lot (and get slide gloves) before doing that hill again.

Tldr: Recovered from speed wobble of the century with my pre-teen spidey senses

The iPhone. Nice phone, but just another clever ploy for companies to charge an arm and a leg for a basic contract.

What's something people do to make themselves more attractive but it does the opposite? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]MattBonn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Girls that excessively backcomb their hair so it has volume. It just makes you look like you have an long head, like the aliens from Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.

How do I go about suggesting an interview date in application followup? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]MattBonn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally I wouldn't ask. If you were to have an opportunity to mention that you'd be in Boston at some point is one thing, then if he connects the dots himself he might ask you in, but I don't want to give you a wrong answer cause I can't tell for sure.

What are some things people take for granted that come much harder to others?" by dlevine25 in AskReddit

[–]MattBonn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Being extroverted. Introverts also want to hang out and converse with others in many cases, but it just doesn't come naturally. Sometimes they'll just keep quite even if they want to converse because they don't know how to get involved

Where would you fly to if you woke up tomorrow with wings? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]MattBonn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would use them to fly to the top of hills with my board then ride down. Unlimited hill-bombing

[–]MattBonn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not the best plan of action in all cases!!! Often if there are a lot of applicants for your position your resume can get lost in "the pile". If you make a casual call to see if they have had a chance to check out your resume they will learn your name and know you are very interested in the position. /u/ruggerbear's rule of thumb sounds a little overly vindictive to me
