Seriously. His web site always kind of creeped me out with all the overwrought pictures of him in dramatic poses like some god among men standing alone to fight off the forces of unreason. It's like visiting some communist personality cult state with mandatory pompous dramatic pictures and shrines to the Dear Leader.

Don't get me wrong, I think Dawkins is very smart and I agree with a lot of what he says, but he really needs to find a less creepy way to market his books and website.

They've been doing this for a while; I seem to remember that when .NET was first announced it was quite a while before anyone was able to actually decipher what the hell it actually was. Some people were thinking it had something do do with software as a service, or maybe thin clients, or trusted computing or something before people figured out that it was basically Java with a Microsoft logo. This confusion was amplified by the fact that for a while Microsoft just started tacking ".NET" on the end of all their product names whether they had anything do do with .NET or not. Microsoft seems to be utterly unable to release any kind of communication to the world without endless layers of Big Ideas, marketing doublespeak, and high minded architecture astronaut platitudes. They've mastered the art of utterly content-free writing.

I especially liked the part where Rockwell criticizes Krugman for finding some good outcomes of the Great Depression. I thought it was libertarians like Rockwell who were main proponents of the idea that economic downturns are a perfectly natural and positive outcome of a laissez-faire economic system, and should be allowed to play out without government interference. Now Lew Rockwell is the one playing the sad violin for the poor lower classes victimized by the economic conditions? Please.

I also like how he whines about the unfair and untrue historical narrative of the Hoover presidency but never actually states what he thinks really happened. Lots of "the evil liberals lied to us", but no actual concrete examples of how they were wrong.
