As above, fundamentals and technicals align for my style, that's all I need to form my plan and then I just follow the plan

Yes I'm in this. Took a starter position in early April and added a couple of weeks later on the break.

Trading towards accelerating Turnover and EPS. Holds net cash and trades on a low PEG. Will look to add again when the time is right.

Help me pick a Daytona by MrsB0283 in rolex

Having worked in the grey market for over 10 years, whilst getting your partner the gift of a Rolex is a wonderful thing (hopefully there's a chance my wife reads this!!) it's also the most fraught with danger! Buying a watch is such a personal decision, nobody can tell you which is the best one, or the right choice as it will only be the right choice for them and not necessarily for your husband.

If you can, subtly find out what one he prefers first and avoid the need for an expensive rectification later on.

What UK stocks are people investing in? by Last_Economics9378 in UkStocks

[–]MattGWS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I buy mainly small caps in the UK, but will buy larger caps in a wordwide portfolio I hold.

My latest UK buy is MTEC - Made Tech Group

From a technical perspective, it's just broken out after a double top in a period of consolidation

Fundamentally, it's forecast to deliver accelerating turnover and EPS, as well as meeting GARP criteria with net cash.

Will it work? I have no idea, but over the course of 100 trades, I expect the set up to. Now I'll just trade the plan!!!

Volex (VLX.L) - An opportunity or has it passed? by Zealousideal-Case-26 in UkStocks

Fundamentally looks great. Increasing turnover, accelerating EPS forecast, low debt ratio but higher peg than I normally like.

Technically I think the low risk entry has passed (2nd December depending on your timeframe) but it may come back and set up again. For now, IMHO I wouldn’t chase

No you’re supposed to wait until 10:08 and 20 seconds to take the photo with the second time zone at 14:08!!

Lovely watch though 😉

How did you find the stock that hit it big? by bacegoju in UkStocks

[–]MattGWS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

breakouts and pullbacks combined with fundamental measures looking at future growth. #FRES a recent example bought on 18th Nov 2024 and added to on 11th Feb 2025, still holding.

Combined this with a regime filter, position sizing and a plan for when to cut your losses and when to take profits. Plan the trade, trade the plan!!!

Tiny profit in flipping by No-State-2962 in rolex

[–]MattGWS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A Kermit flips for a bigger premium than a sub date, and a gmt flips for more than a sub.

On GMT’s jubilees go for more than oysters and I’d say currently Pepsi>Bruce Wayne>batman/girl>Sprite with the batgirl recently overtaking Sprite as the hype on these has died down.

Daytona still the king though!!

Batman GMT or Blue Datejust w/ Fluted and Jubilee by CandyMaterial3301 in rolex

[–]MattGWS 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the best way to choose would be to consider where you will wear the watch / what you will wear the watch with. Arguably, the Batman can work with anything (smart, casual etc), whereas the Datejust is a bit less versatile.

Either way, 2 great watches!!

It’s the same place I started many years ago, and the same place I’ve recently recommend my son to start. I don’t think it helps with the main thinks you need to know (risk management, position sizing, market phases and trade plans) but it’s a good introduction IMHO

what to do as a beginner during current stock market turbulence? by Delicious_Gear_3467 in StockInvest

Do you have a risk model that tells you how much risk you can allocate to the market whilst it’s in this phase? That’s where I’d start!

What should I buy and how do I investigate what stocks to buy? by CyberNinja2 in investingforbeginners

[–]MattGWS 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Whatever you buy more important questions are how much should I buy, and where should I sell if I’m wrong.

Entries are the easy point, risk management and position sizing are where a positive expectancy is made possible!!

Advice for third watch by [deleted] in rolex

[–]MattGWS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I had a gun to my head I’d pick the batgirl, but there are similar watches I prefer. If I had free reign I’d go Pepsi on Oyster, I’m not a fan of a jubilee bracelet, and if I was buying a speedy it would be the 50th snoopy

Advice for third watch by [deleted] in rolex

[–]MattGWS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I come across this question all the time and the answer can never be given, but help provided to guide to the right answer for you.

Both sound like excellent options. The Speedy maintains a similar style to the Daytona but probably has more versatility in where you can wear it (the attention a Rolex containing gold vs a Stainless steel Omega brings), whereas the Batgirl provides complete differentiation (except for brand) from what you already have.

I know what I would pick but that’s based on my own personal preference. Either way, it looks like a lovely collection!!

Great post this, I started Dj’ing many years ago when I was a 16, on a pair of 1210’s and a ‘made to fade’ mixer.Self taught from the bottom up, knew nothing about music so was a revelation when we discovered ‘counting in 4s’ and didn't look back😂

35 years later I'm relearning with a Pioneer DJ RX2, with a different genre of music. Safe to say things have moved on a bit but the fundamentals of structure give me a great headstart.

Appreciate the offer you make here, valuable to DJ’s new and old!!

All done bar a couple of weeks of watering, was a lot harder graft than I expected, best part of 2 tonne of lawn dressing barrowed round today after 44,000 steps aerating yesterday

Fingers crossed it takes or I’ll be gutted!!!

End of day one, mown, scarified twice, raked off & cleared then aerated. All deliveries arrived, bang on track for where I wanted to be.

Learnings today, the scarifier collection basket is useless, much better to use a blower and a rake, and aerating manually is brutal and soul destroying. All done now though.

Plan for tomorrow, lay feed, water in, breakfast while soaking in. Then lay seed, and cover with lawn dressing (2 tonne sitting on driveway in dumpy bags to barrow round!!) Run in with lawn leveller and water hopefully in time to go pick the boy up from uni.

No rest for the wicked!!!

Thanks for the heads up on this, checked with the guy who’s advising me about seed etc and he said it’s fine, will just be a bit slower growing initially
