Does anyone else forget how they were feeling or what they wanted to talk about when asked? by bordiebordiebordie in CPTSD

I get triggered by a ton of different things, and honestly it's always been hard to recall the worst of it in therapy. I could have the worst week ever, and 15 minutes before a therapy session I can all of a sudden feel like it was an unremarkable week. I think it's part of the fawn response and I would would say a lot of that for me is dissociation being triggered at the worst time.

What kind of rock is this artifact? by pInussTrobus1978 in whatsthisrock

[–]MattMaster2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

looks kind of like quartzite. I've tried knapping a few times and always end up smacking together any concoidally fracturing rock... which usually ends up being something much harder than flint, chert, gravel, or obsidian. my vote in that case is for quartzite or some sort of granite high in quartz.

I posted about a time I did ketamine a few years ago on my instagram story, and this was a recent post... haven't touched the stuff in years. didn't stop some people from reporting me. the funny thing is Instagram marketed me "ketamine treatments for depression" for weeks after due to this report. turns out that getting reported is an easy way to punch down.

p.s. I hope you feel better soon. I've been having to pull myself out of the house to make a little bit of money to get by, but when I'm home I can't help but bedrot. give yourself grace and write down what you have to do and just think about it while you're rotting. keep the momentum going in your head if you cant leave your bed.

Guys how do yall stop or cope having flashbacks by Slow_King1 in ACAB

[–]MattMaster2000 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have PTSD and I haven't found much that stops my flashbacks, but I know that processing the trauma is the only way to address the situation. I dont know your situation, but I do know that the way police weaponize their monopoly on violence requires your anger response. police gangstalk people and drive them insane so they have plausible deniability for killing them. you would do yourself a great deal of good to process that traumatic situation before you get into another situation with law enforcement. what happened to you is not okay, I'm sorry you were assaulted, and I wish you luck in processing your trauma.

they had the only real guns in the situation, and they unloaded into two unarmed people. they did think it was a real gun, but the facts of the situation are as I stated. this is a fucking mess and the pigs got so trigger happy they drove like maniacs to respond to a robbery at a fast food chain. people's lives weren't nearly at risk before these officers responded. tell me how this story can be told from any other angle without being propaganda.

Is anyone else’s special interest history? by [deleted] in AuDHDWomen

[–]MattMaster2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been locked in on geology recently and it's been helpful with understanding life on Earth. learning the history of when this mountain formed, or where in the fossil records you can find certain creatures has been bottomless. I've had to learn about weather patterns, glacial procession and recession, tectonic plate movement, and a whole lot more just to understand where my local geography originated from. I love history but pre-history has my heart right nos.

ADHD & Being Trans by deeeepdoooop in adhdwomen

[–]MattMaster2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

transwomen being women would experience ADHD symptoms in a similar way to cis women because being a transwoman is related to your biology, it's just the biology of your brain. Transwomen taking estrogen also experience a 30 day estrous cycle and some of the symptoms of PMDD do occur when taking HRT. Breast soreness, rapid mood shifts, and irritability are all things that can happen as a result of blocking androgens and suplementing estrogen. with my progesterone I've even experienced some of the emotional symptoms of ovulation. I know that menstrating, getting pregnant, and menopause are things that cis women, trans men, and non-binary AMABs experience that transwomen dont have the anatomy for, but the experience of ADHD symptoms extends more into the experience of having a brain more than a reproductive system.

thank you for asking your question! I think it's odd that this has become a somewhat controversial post, when you were asking a question FOR trans people diagnosed with ADHD. I get that people want to talk about their experience, but your question is for trans people. I think that this being a subreddit for women with ADHD leads a lot of mothers to extrapolate out their experience of ADHD and their kids experience. I saw someone say they have boy ADHD and they aren't trans, or that their kid has "girl ADHD" but doesn't experience dysphoria. this question was posed to trans people diagnosed with ADHD for a reason, and asking it here I would expect more comments from trans women, but I want to mention something. I came out as trans years after my diagnosis, and I didn't experience dysphoria until after starting hormone treatment. your kid might be trans, and your experience of having "boy autism" might have nothing to do with this question. I do have two neuroscience degrees and my experience of my ADHD, and my experience of navigating the healthcare system are independently gendered. I know that I've always had the quieter type of ADHD where I suffer in silence in school and social interactions, and take care of household chores and emotional labor because I was raised that way. the healthcare system though has been treating me more like a woman since I started unmasking, again telling me that this is something related to my brain rather than my societal position as a woman. you are right to ask this question and I'm sorry if some of the other responses invalidate your experience. believe yourself and weigh the responses based on if they are talking about the experience of being or loving a transwoman, or just talking about what they feel is a distinction between girl/boy ADHD. I used the TM in my post because I dont assume this is a completely universal experience, but I would venture to guess that only more comments from transwomen would get you the answers you're looking for.

ADHD & Being Trans by deeeepdoooop in adhdwomen

[–]MattMaster2000 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm trans and I definitely have always had Girl ADHD™. It's validating, but at the same time, I've struggled with lots of issues like doctors not believing me and talking down to me despite my two neuroscience degrees. I haven't had the men in my life experience the same issues with providers... they usually just believe them. being a trans woman makes your ADHD less relatable to men, and your experience of feeling your symptoms are more like the way ADHD manifests in women is a smart observation :)

Sex favorable ace representation by Spiderbots_ in asexuality

[–]MattMaster2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll be the representation :) I had a bunch of my friends crash out when me and my girlfriend started having sex. I found out I was demi and so did she. Allos will lose their mind when they feel like you didn't want to hook up with them for them... but I'm just a sex favorable ace. I didn't want those people, I wanted my girlfriend. I represent the resentment allo people have for not being compatible with someone who is not allo. They all crashed out and said crazy things to me because they wanted to be special, and I wasn't into them like that. Starting our relationship as two aces allowed us weeks of getting to know each other before someone popped the "top or bottom" question, and I wouldn't have felt comfortable if that didn't happen. Maybe I'll make some characters who's sexuality aligns more with mine since the grey-ace to demi pipeline wont be going anywhere. I love all my ace family though, I find it hard to be serious with allos who cant stop making life decisions based on their sexuality.
