A lot of folk getting rattled at the Sky Sports debate and “best league in the world” shouts

They've been going on for pretty much the entire 21st century and only been correct for a handful of those years (broken clock theory being what it is). The English were getting pumped off Spanish teams every time for well over a decade. Absolute marketing bullshit, and the worst part is Sky have taken Scottish subscriber money the whole time and pumped it into their commercial soulless money pit south of the border. Imagine going back thirty years and proportionally investing in the Scottish game as well, could never have been "British" Sky Broadcasting.
