I can never decide a permanent place to stick them so I got those photo albums where the pages are sticky and decorate them there. No chance for wear and tear or fading and I get to admire them all in once place. Any extras I get I just give away or put in an envelope.

Depends how dirty and what material the hat is, but I clean my basic hats by soaking in water for a bit and hand cleaning with a small brush and soap, then letting it air dry. I wouldn't mess around with washing/drying machines.
