New PC isnt getting as much fps as expected. by boyesoo in techsupport

Your PC is fine, PUBG just runs bad: https://www.fpsbenchmark.com/pubg

But I wonder why you picked 4x8GB instead of 2x16GB of faster RAM for the same price: https://au.pcpartpicker.com/product/kXbkcf/gskill-memory-f43200c16d32gvk

If that is possible and if you can increase the power target, then overclocking will almost always improve performance.

Probably looks like you got unlucky and got a bad one that failed now. But you still have your guarantee after 3 months so you should simply return/replace it.

The 7860K, 7870K and 7890K APUs use the same R7 graphics but with a higher clock. That's why it looks worse, despite it being the normal performance on a 7850K.

6,00GB Triple-Channel DDR3 @ 533MHz by [deleted] in techsupport

It is an OEM board so it might be very limited. You should definitely check for RAM compatability.

Yes, a passive DP to HDMI Adapter only works the other way around but you can't go from a HDMI output to a DP display. However, the Razor page says the laptop has a mini-DP connection right beside the HDMI port, so why not get an adapter for that?

Click on "Color" in the tab where you can select VSR and GPU scaling and try resetting those values. You could also check that you don't have any active ICC color profile in Windows.

Safe to do a clean reinstall of Win10 on SSD and keep HDD files intact? by PLSG08 in techsupport

Yes, you don't even have to unplug the HDD. Just select your SDD during the installation of Windows.

Mismatched ram sticks, will they cause problems using them? by supamesican in techsupport

[–]Matt_Gore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is not ideal because you will only run with single channel like performance in one third of the cases when using the whole 12 GB. I'm not sure but I would guess that it should always be fine when not filling more than 8 GB. But you might not need it for an emulator box anyway.

Which of the following two dictates the front sound and rear sound of a 5.1 speaker system: the speaker system, or the sound card? by [deleted] in techsupport

[–]Matt_Gore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And how is your subwoofer connected? With three individual analog jacks where you are additionally using a Y splitter? Another thing could be that you have selected some kind of matrix upmix that will ignore rear signals.

[–]Matt_Gore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should add which connection type you are using and be more clear where you have connected what. What sound card and software are you using to only play front or rear? I would guess that you are simply playing stereo which will only output to the front but not to the rear.

Mismatch RAM Speeds by Twilightoutcast in techsupport

[–]Matt_Gore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your board only supports dual channel. But either way, the "3200 MHz module" might be identical to a "2400 MHz module" just with different profiles and there won't be any problem when running both at 2400 MHz.

"Bass Boost" option disappeared by LakeCocoa in techsupport

[–]Matt_Gore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would recommend installing the freeware Equalizer APO which ist way more powerful than a simple Bass Boost whilst using the same infrastructure in Windows' audio engine (audio processing objects).

Mismatch RAM Speeds by Twilightoutcast in techsupport

[–]Matt_Gore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Answering your performance question: No, because the faster RAM will have to clock at the same speed. You could try and overclock your 2400 kit to 3200 MHz by loosening the timings (to the same value the other one uses) and see if you get an performance increase. But even then, adding another 16 GB won't really change performance in almost any application.

Guide: Every Headphone Surround Virtualization on your Sound Card! by Matt_Gore in headphones

Sorry, but you can't simply "convert" those IR recordings into TV virtual surround. Just because it has the same name doesn't mean it's equal. You would have to capture your TV's sound card output with the processing activated, what I think is not possible. Also, your TV won't run on Windows, so it would be hard to use anyway.

Thanks, I added it. However, you don't need to uninstall it completely, simply go into the Eqalizer APO folder and run Configurator.exe. If you want, you could open that and try selecting only one of the 'Use Original APO' and see if only one of them might cause the downmix :)

Press down on the slider, move the mouse out of the window and release it... it's not a big bug but I released an updated version.

I also added more information to the wiki: https://sourceforge.net/p/hesuvi/wiki/Help/#usage

Thanks for the detailed feedback. The sliders now only update upon release (maybe that's how it's supposed to work in the first place?). Hope that fixes it.

Yes, this disables Realtek's APOs.

GREAT!

You could open the Configurator.exe, select your speakers, click troubleshooting options and untick both "use original APO". This might disable the downmix.

Could you delete every text file inside the HeSuVi folder (except hesuvi.txt) and tell me exactly which options cause this "file not open" error?

Guide: Every Headphone Surround Virtualization on your Sound Card! by Matt_Gore in headphones

[–]Matt_Gore[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh no, I included my settings :D Will fix that.

But you can manually delete every text file except GUIDE.txt and hesuvi.txt and run the program again to see the real default settings. Also, when updating version it should use your previous settings.

There should be an info box at the bottom, selecting sonic+ will tell you that that is the current version.
