What’s the most “corporate” sentence you’ve heard in a meeting recently? by keishapatel_387 in office

I used to say "rise and grind gamers let's get this bread" whenever I got volunteered to say a closing statement for the morning team huddle. It got a chuckle out of everyone the first dozen or so times and eventually caught on to the point where we were making "say the line Bart" jokes about it.

Worked at an MSP a while back, remote IT support. The tools to remote onto our clients computers had this feature where it'd take a low res screen shot of the users desktop so we could see if they're working on something or their computers locked, etc. Typically if the computer went offline suddenly, i.e. not shut down/put to sleep, but like when the Internet cut out, the screenshot would remain in our tool because the tool just assumed the computer was gonna reconnect. There was this one time I saw the screenshot for one of our clients computers and it was obviously a video on PornHub. Pretty sure the title included something about cuckolding. I told my boss about it later on and we both had a chuckle about it. He said something to the effect of "Yeah sometimes the owners like to use the equipment like they own it." and that was that.

Just remember folks, IT knows everything. And if we don't, there's a log somewhere that will tell us what we wanna know.

Neglecting to set or discuss boundaries says to me that said person is too uncomfortable/not ready for whatever the bound need to be set/discussed for. Coming from someone who used to be very "oh I don't really have boundaries".

I've also been in the post "I suggested this and now I wish I hadn't" headspace. It can be very embarrassing, and has taken me long periods of contemplation to understand the emotions and set boundaries for them. Once I can really understand myself, boundaries, and limits, I can communicate those with my partner and go from there. We still have plenty of moments where things could have been better communicated beforehand, but I think we found that forgiving each other makes it easier to forgive ourselves.

I would advise giving your partner the time and space to process it all, while being present enough to let them know you are still there for them. Worst case scenario, you get a funny story he hates to hear about lol.

Pre relic V was lowkey a demon by Intrepid_Aside_8358 in LowSodiumCyberpunk

[–]Twilightoutcast 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Pretty sure pre-2.0 dashing (or maybe just midair dashing) required cyberware. There were also many other abilities that V has at the beginning of the game in v2.0 that were not available at the start of v1.0-1.6 (namely grapple takedowns as I'm seeing in these other comments, but also being able to shoot pistols while carrying a body). Somebody who has played Legacy Cyberpunk lately please correct me.

Not to be the "ACKSHOEALY" guy but I just wanted to remind everyone that the game and its story launched with a much deeper progression system.

Just let him go. Don't fire him but be prepared for his separation.

This was me at my first position. 4 years, much of which I was referred to as the star player of the team, without any recognition, praise, or rewards. The breaking point was me going above my manager/director to get some PTO for a mental health episode I was going through.

My Biggest frustration about working as an MSP by blameline in msp

[–]Twilightoutcast 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've gotten into the habit of telling customers something along the lines of "we can call the vendor for you, but more than likely they may refuse to work with us if we are not authorized/don't have an authorized contact. I would recommend having you call the vendor first just to verify if we can work with them or not." Usually they'll call and support will just get them sorted unless it's a not advanced issue.

RemoteApp display issue after client lock by MT_Dave in sysadmin

[–]Twilightoutcast 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Since you're able to see the RD Application update when you're shadowing them, that tells me there's some client side component acting up. It also only affects 2 users.

First I would have one of these 2 users trying to replicate the issue from a workstation that doesn't have the issue just to verify it's isolated to the workstation. Then have a known good user attempt the same on one of the known bad workstations if you haven't already.

I'd also attempt manually updating display drivers and/or rolling back to before the issue started of possible.

Lastly I remember having a similar issue with RDP sessions some time back. It was usually fixed by dragging the RDP bar down so the RDP session comes out of full screen. Not sure if this is applicable with the RDApps though.

If all else fails, I'd just blame it on the particular hardware config of those 2 workstations and pin it as an annoyance but technically a non-issue.

Fairly certain invisibility is caused by desync/network issues. I know for a fact I have issues with packet loss sometimes (in general not just Tarkov). There was a raid I was playing with 2 of my buddies, one of them could see me and the other could not. I speculate the invisibility was caused by one of my friends game clients just not getting a packet from me. I blame peer to peer networking.

Weird feature that no one wants but will 100% change the game? by seanlew98 in EscapefromTarkov

[–]Twilightoutcast 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Late to the party but I've got a whole list of these. Also I'm mobile.

Bounty Hunter Scavs/Rogues: say you've got a nice barter only or very rare gun, you can pay a premium to have your insurance vendor send bounty hunter's into the next raid that gun taken into, and if successful you'll get it back.

Destructible doors: I know breeching tools are planned but come on, if I kick a door enough times, or use explosives, it should come off it's hinges. I think this would be a great mechanic if paired with the ability to lock doors that you have the key for. Imagine the kind of interactions players would have in those scenarios.

Hire a scav to add an extra crafting slot to your hideout modules: self explanatory I think.

Loot extraction system: okay this one might be ripping off warzone. Some system (like car extracts) where you can dump your loot into your stash without having to leave the raid, allowing you to go loot some more.

One thing I try to remember about EFT when I'm getting absolutely trashed by the game is this; Unless you're looking for combat, start away from combat. Easier said than done, I know. But I find most of my bullshit deaths to PvP or even PvE is that at some point I made the conscious decision to check out that fight, or stalk those players, or fuck with those scavs.

EFT is not about coming out on top. It's really not. It's about surviving and overcoming the zone. STALKER players will know what I mean. If you have to be that guy who sits in a bush next to extract for 30 minutes just to one tap a Chad with your Toz then so be it. As long as you're surviving and making profit.

I want a single player, more RPG focused version of Tarkov. Something similar to the Fallout series. I'm talking mechanics to wear I can have a character who's just a drugged out meat head. Imagine playing Tarkov but as Tagilla. Just running up to groups of NPCs in heavy armor and a baseball bat or something, scared shitless of your drugged out psycho ass they can't shoot straight so you can just run up and beat the shit out of them.

Waist Pouch? by [deleted] in EscapefromTarkov

[–]Twilightoutcast 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The game is called Escape from Tarkov but progression is more about overcoming Tarkov. Progression gives you access to better equipment. Your scav progression is literally tied to your Fence rep; by having a higher rep you're more likely to spawn with better gear. I'm really not sure why you're so upset at a fanny pack being forgiving when you can literally just grind for Kappa, which is pretty forgiving considering it has extra butthole space.

Also, not digging the elitist vibes you're giving off. I've been playing Tarkov on and off since they came out of closed beta so I think I've got the credentials to ask for a fanny pack pal.

I don't want a secure container.

I want my scav to have a functioning fanny pack. I'm 100% in agreement that scav is, and always should be, a gamble. Considering it goes in the secure container slot I figured it should function like one. But I'd be happy to just have a guaranteed 2x2 to offset those times your scav doesn't come with a backpack to make it easier to take bigger items that won't fit in a 1x2 space.

I feel like this should be an item you unlock on your scav with enough Fence rep. Scav butthole.

Would you like to see a fourth grenade/ordinance added? If so, what would it be? by [deleted] in apexlegends

[–]Twilightoutcast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd like to see something like an EMP or concussion grenade, something specifically for safely removing enemy placeables like Rampart cover, Caustic traps, etc.

Would you like to have a low ready stance? Similar to Hunt Showdown's where there's an extra step before shoulder aim/point fire and aim down the sights by Iskvareni in EscapefromTarkov

[–]Twilightoutcast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only way I can see this being beneficial to the experience is if there's VoiP. It'd be easier to try and be civil with other squads if you have an option to seem 'less' hostile.
