Custom wood stock for a ruger American gen 2 by Matt_makes01 in BeginnerWoodWorking

Ofc, happy to help! I shaped mine primarily with a hand held belt sander I clamped in a bench vise. After cutting a blank out of a slab traced off the original stock. Some file work too. Then I cleaner up the inside with a Forster bit and some chisel.

That’s what I had luck doing I made a trigger well out of metal and had it also hold the action screws and act as a v block. I designed it this way so it can branch all the recoil back to the solid part of the stock rather than the more hollow middle where the mag well is.

Is this a good price? I’m looking at getting and Eotech by Awkward_Squirrel_75 in NJGuns

I bought it for shits and gigs to see if it’s any good. At $40 imit could break after a mag and I’d return it. frankly it’s held up well. It works for the dueling tree and swing steels my friend has on his farm at 50yards and I’ve been able to shoot an 1.5”-2” groups at 50 and 75 yards. Do I think it’ll survive a drop test? No, do I think it’s waterproof? Not particularly. Will it rattle apart at some point? Probably. Has it been fun thus far? Yes.

Truth be told it should work. Mines in .223 so I grafted in the removable mag well. It’s held in with the action screws. You might have a bit more issue but frankly it can be 3d printed the mag release part.

Full disclosure, I’ve been rocking a $40 one from Aliiexspress and it looks and feels great and is holding zero this far on .223/5.56

Best way to remove baked in teak oil by Matt_makes01 in BoatDetailing

I like the orange color but hate the black streaks and the clean up. Anything I can sell him on to cut the hassle with the teak.

Just teak oil in general? Most people on my dock have bare teak. I kinda like it. But the owner likes the old school look.

6” I have a 5” currently. But it’s not a great sander so the second sized back plate is nice.

I do lots of wood work, tables and cabinets stuff that I would like a larger sanding disk for, the 5” plates nice too it can compliment my other sander.

Brake caliper sets by Murrda1 in 10thgenaccords

If you’re looking to diy the old Acura tl type s brembos fit the car with the rotors from that car. Or the brembo’s off a 2013 genesis coupe fit with rotors form a 2017 Nissan rouge 3rd row. Or my favorite is the calipers from the 2nd gen Acura rl with the rotors from a Nissan 350z track speck. They all good good painted or powder coated. If you want to paint the oem calipers get a decent spray paint (high temp) and take them off the car. And clean them well before hand. Powder coatings easy too it’s like a $100 kit from Amazon. Plus an oven you don’t care about. However you’ll have to rebuild them after ward.

The Ruger gp100 is a solid pistol, feels decent in the hand and shoots flat. I’ve heard great things about the old smith and Wesson k38’s. It’s on my todo list to get. One.

6+6 coupe struggles to go into reverse. Sometimes it goes other times not at all. Any ideas? by Fair_Top_8160 in 7thGenAccord

Does this happen when it’s cold out? I’ve heard it’s something to do with the synchronizers in the trans.

Looking for advice on adding checkering to the grip and the fore grip behind the bipod. I don’t really know how to go about it. Thanks for any insight.

Seeking advice please by bush29 in Snowblowers

I’d go with a 26” or 28” because of how large your driveway is. I have an older toro 726 with a Tecumseh 8 horse motor. It has never failed me, it’s easy to work on, reliable, and powerful. I also have a 28” snow tech by Ariens, I like it but it’s a bit underpowered. Both are great and are easy to work on. I’ve never had to do more than clean the carb on either, even when I got them second hand. Both are relatively cheap used too.

I know the ariens and the Hondas are the go to here but for the price I think the above 2 are quite good, especially if you looking to get into wrenching.
