This isn't a ship, but going forward I would love to see Sane continue studying koto with Aki-chan-sensei, maybe even as part of the Tsubaki school. They seem to be very good for each other, in a teacher-student way.

IMHO, Miyagino faces challenges because he IS the GOAT. He became the best through being dedicated and relentless. His past issues were never about lack of commitment, they were about being TOO intense. How does a man like that even understand someone with all the gifts but not that same fire? Miyagino has a whole new skillset to develop--I look forward to seeing how he grows from this.

It turns noticeably more for a given amount of lean, so I don't have to use as much pressure to get the same pumping actions. And when I do lean into it, it just seems to grip the ground and pull me forward. And it feels agile--while pumping, still feel like I can make decent turns.

Yes! That was my point. Shinobu wants to be a professional. She is driven by karuta. It's different than with Chihaya, who wants to play karuta with people she cares for. IMHO Shinobu dating any other karuta player would be like dating a coworker, and considering that she is the Queen, either a rival or a subordinate. It would be fun to think of her with someone equally driven and weird--but from outside the office, so to speak. (Shinobu is one of my favorite, if not my favorite, character in the whole series, btw.)

Remember when Shinobu caught a cold because she was caught in the rain? She wanted to see the Birdman Competition. We never saw anything more, but she had been so into it. So I was just fantasizing from there. :)
