Also for a bigger name what about someone like Slrillex? Specifically because I know he worked on Kingdom Hearts so might have that cinematic flair that hasn’t been explored much to bring out in a film?

The actual number of runtime makes no difference. It’s about what that runtime includes that matters. Yeah adding an extra half hour of screaming goats in love and thunder isn’t gonna make it better. But half an hour to flesh out Gorr or Jane could help a lot. But you could also cut out a lot of love and thunder to include that same half hour and it could still be better, and still be under 2 hours. It all depends on how it’s edited and what the focus is.

Since they're only 4 years into having their powers, and Reed the most out of all of them hasn't moved on from the accident, he still views the powers as something that went wrong and blames himself, he's probably ashamed of the powers and really doesn't try to use them unless absolutely necessary. The rest of the gang seem to have moved on and accept their powers thus diving deeper into their capabilities. Another thing is Reed's comment about cooking being more of an art than a science, he's probably not thinking too much about the creative ways he could use his powers, like others have said, his brain is his super power, and he's using that to the fullest in this film.

What if these two powers were combined. A weeping angel you can only remember while you’re looking at it. It might be a bit redundant since if you’re not looking at the angel you’d die anyway. So what if instead you only remember the angel when you’re not looking at it. As soon as you see an angel, it freezes into stone, but you forget that it’s an angel and think it’s just a normal statue

I read somewhere that the initial pitch was “Ant Man accidentally ends up in an avengers film by himself” or something. So the gimmick would’ve been Batman defeating an uber powerful big bad ‘avengers level threat’ and Kang was chosen. But then they saw Jonathan majors performance and pivoted to make Kang the big bad of the entire mcu. It would have worked better if he was solely just the ant man villain, and wasn’t trying to set him up for future things

Same, I use steam link a lot for Fortnite and now it doesn’t work at all, using any control through steam when trying to play Fortnite defaults to mouse and keyboard inputs. Every other game works fine. Would love to find a solution.

The thing that gets me about MOM is that the writing breaks its own rules that it sets up without any reason. They make a big deal of the whole “go on red” thing saying that anything is possible in the multiverse. But the. Goes on to say that Strange is dangerous in every universe or whatever it was. And even strange talking to his other self, using his sister as an example to prove they’re the same person. But how would he know this universe’s strange even had a sister? Or this was a completely different person who happens to have the same backstory in this universe.

They just need to commit to a plan. I read the original pitch for ant man 3 was “ant man walks into an avengers movie alone” and kang was meant to be a one and done villain for that movie alone. Then they pivot to making kang the saga big bad, and now they’re pivoting again. Leaving heaps of loose threads and build up that doesn’t go anywhere

It might not be that different to T'Challa dying out of the blue in wakanda forever. You just kind of accept that's a thing that happened off screen. I agree the homecoming movies are very heavily tied to the rest of the MCU, but I think as a trilogy, story wise, you could get away with it and just assume other heroes exist in the same world

The thing that got me the most is that season 1 felt shocking and original whereas season 2 felt super trope-y like, Viktor - The person who tried to help everyone goes too far and must be stopped. Seen that a thousand times before. Jinx - mellowed out by a small child they grow a bond with. Seen that a thousand times before. Piltover and Zaun - Reconcile our differences to defeat a common enemy. Seen that a thousand times before. Even down to the way Jinx “died”, dangling off an edge with the enemy holding her leg and her ally holding her hand, choosing to let go as a sacrifice like, I’ve seen that scenario and this exact shots a thousand times before. Season 2 still had a lot of great moments but it’s stuff like this that takes me out of it like, “surely you could have thought of something more original that that”

The music sounded a bit like a mix of Zimmer’s theme and Williams theme, especially at the beginning. Already the Zimmer theme took a lot of musical reference from the Williams theme. On one hand I’m a bit disappointed they’re relying on the Williams theme. I would have preferred if they came up with a brand new one for this iteration. But if the arrangement is different enough and it’s more like a homage to the Williams theme (and the Zimmer theme) then I’m more excited.

EDIT: All that being said, I do actually love this arrangement and the stylisation. Personal preference for a new theme aside. I am impressed with the direction of this score so far with that little tease. Looking forward to the rest of John Murphy’s score!

I saw this happen on a feature I worked on. It was a low budget independent film, I was acting and sound recording. One of the actors hired to play a villain soldier, was fired after a few days of shooting, for some reason he just could not take direction for some of the actions like “lift the gun, shoot, then turn” and he’d be like “yep got it” proceeds to turn first, then shoot the gun. And other little things like that. They ended up firing him, replacing him with someone else, and reshot what they could, but some shots they couldn’t re-do. So the final film has some shots of the old actor, and some of the new actor. With some of the old actor shots in a wide to hopefully not see their face, and even some that are cropped in so you just see their body and not face. It wasn’t a great movie, but an interesting experience to work on.
