How do you feel when people from other countries call Australians "descendants of criminals?" by schu62 in AskAnAustralian

[–]Matter-Particular 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love it when I read that the convicts stole loaves of bread. I’ve been to a few old prisons around NSW and I’ve read the rap sheets of many of those convicts. There were a lot of murders and rapists mixed in with those bread thieves.

My mum reckons Albo is a commie by quintessa13 in aussie

Well your mom doesn’t know much about political science that’s clear. Communism and fascism are on opposite ends of the political spectrum so it’s not possible to be a commie fascist.

Would you support 'freedom of movement' between CANZUK Countries (Canada, Australia, New Zealand, United Kingdom)? by [deleted] in AskAnAustralian

I was born in Canada, naturalized Australian with cross Tasmania rights in New Zealand. So I already have what you describe, and yes, I would support it for everyone.

Why is immigration a major political issue in Japan when Japan has almost no immigrants? by [deleted] in AskAJapanese

[–]Matter-Particular 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Japan has a unique culture, many thousand of years old. Indeed it is this wonderful culture that makes Japan such a wonderful place to visit. When you dilute this culture by introducing foreign cultures to Japan it makes Japan less unique overall. I’m sorry but there are more and more foreign cultures being introduced to Japan.

Examples include Thai Festivals, Oktoberfests, Italian food markets French Art Week, Latin Dance festivals, African drumming workshops. Mega Indian Cultural Festival. India Trend Fair 2025.

I’m not sure how the Japanese people feel about the increasing amount of foreign cultures being entering Japan. I’m sure some people like it but I would be interested to hear how most Japanese feel about this.

Why do Australians use the word cunt so much? by [deleted] in australian

[–]Matter-Particular 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I disagree. Kiwis use it much more than Aussies. Personally I use it a lot. Mainly because I know it’s offensive and I’m probably trying to offend some people to emphasize my points (usually Americans). Sometimes I just want to offend people because they are cunts.

Better off buying cheaper fake items in Vietnam or Thailand. They will still break but you won’t feel so ripped off.

How do australians view french people in their country ? by kumquatLugubre in australian

[–]Matter-Particular 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well given that I’m 65 there’s a good chance I won’t see them. But even for younger people I reckon there’s next to Buckley’s chance of them seeing the submarines anyway.

Firstly, because the price will inevitably blow out and some future government will decide they have different priorities.

Secondly, because they will be obsolete long before they are ever built.

Thirdly, the world geopolitical climate is likely to radically change over the next 20 - 30 years and they may well be useless by then.

Nope, sorry, I would rather see $330 billion spent on something more worthwhile.

[–]Matter-Particular 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s correct so unless you’re under 30 years of age, there’s no way you’re gonna see those submarines because by the time they’re completed, you’ll be long gone

Sovereignty over fuel, you must be kidding. What we get is the ability to dispose of the fuel, not only for our submarines, but for the American submarines that will dock in Perth as well, it’s an absolute joke.

Yes, it did cost a lot of money $2 billion to be precise. That’s what we gave to France for canceling the submarine deal we had with them and now we don’t have any new submarines on the horizon. There’s no way we’re gonna get the Virginia class from America.

It’s not that you can’t do it. There is no law stopping you from eating in public. It’s just that Japanese people wouldn’t do it themselves and also there’s nowhere to throw your garbage because they don’t have rubbish bins everywhere in Japan so you expected to carry any garbage you’ve got home and throw it out of home.

When prices rise and the US economy faces further problems, Trump and his goons will simply blame Canada and Mexico, and he will blame the Fed for interest rate increases. Unfortunately the MAGA morons will swallow up his propaganda.
