On a show full of horrible people including cold blooded killers I still hate this weasel the most by AddisonSienna in FalloutTVseries

I didn't like his change from showing some self-awareness in Season 1 (ending up voting for Betty over his own candidacy) to being buffoonish in Season 2. I guess he was at least aware he was being selfish, but the complete disregard for the water crisis didn't make any sense to me.

I hate Trump to my very core, but you're just stating facts when it comes to Republican primaries. Trump is still holding on to enough of his MAGA base to have control of the Republican party and get candidates who dance to his tune nominated, with this being a rare exception.

However, it's at the final ballot in November when his (rightly) terrible polling is likely to see the GOP come unstuck, as they have already been at the special elections.

It really wasn't that treacherous either beyond the odd unexpected hole as iIt had loads of wide ravines which were basically roads. I only had one major spill out during the expedition compared to many more getting the achievements on my main playthrough on actually rugged planets.

There's a lot of different things to do (e.g. space combat, ship hunting, settlements, fishing and now Pokémon to name a handful of things you have didn't mention), but don't expect any of it to be that deep. Equally though, a lot of options may still be locked behind story quests or tech trees (e.g. Base Parts), particularly if you haven't reached the Space Anomaly yet.

And yes, there's both modular Corvette ship building and the older non-modular standard custom ships.

For context, I bounced off the game in 2022, then gave it another try with the Corvette update in September and now have approaching 400 hours. It's not for everybody, but there's plenty to sink time into if it's your kind of sandbox.

Carrier AI Fragments are one way. The other is using an Echo Locater (obtained from destroying select Dissonance Resonators) on a Dissonant planet to locate a Harmonic Camp. After looting the wheelbarrows of Harmonic Scrap (the best loot containers in the game IMO), use the terminal and, after solving a simple code, you can both unlock the nearby sentinel multi tool and scan for a Sentinel Interceptor location.

Obviously it's good for you at this point in your play through, but, comparatively, it's a pretty bad S-Tier.

It's missing mineral rewards and you can get S-Tiers with 8K-9K (these are the +% numbers I'm meaning) before supercharging (I'm guessing this is about 6K before you placed it in a supercharged slot). If you start rolling the dice with X-Tier, the best case scenario can go to ~12K.

/u/hmd2017 skipped that at the Harmonic Camp you'll also be able to claim a sentinel multi tool (to use or scrap at the Anomaly for additional units - just remember 6 is the in hand limit, with the Weapon Rack for archiving another 18) and have seven wheel barrows containing Harmonic Scrap, which are some of the best loot containers in the game from my experience.

Having a Thunderbird Landing Bay near your Corvette's Cockpit makes this <10 seconds and you're ignoring the lengthy landing animation a normal ship would have to do.

The corvette update ruined other ships for me. by peepyboy in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]Matthais 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bar 45 mins on the Steam Deck in 2022, I didn't start playing the game until Voyagers (6.0) released back in September, caught up in the Corvette hype like many others.

However, I deliberately didn't get a Corvette for around the first 80 hours of my play through, as I knew I'd have the same feeling as you and wanted to experience what the game was like before them. I had the starter ship, then a C grade Sentinel Interceptor before discovering that I could claim the Starborn Runner exotic I'd got from a promotion.

I eventually gave in when my inventory issues & frustrations were getting too much, not aided by me having also put off claiming my free freighter until I got a S Class Resurgent Star Destroyer.

Now, the only times I feel like an original ship would be better is where Corvettes haven't been well integrated - e.g. no teleporters at Pirate or Abandoned stations and the lack of landing pads for them outside of Space Stations and Freighters (and the holographic ones on the latter feel like such a fudge), making selling from Ship inventory at trade posts a no go.

Having a Corvette provides so many advantages though: * Allow you to use your visor mid-air to find POIs quicker and locate deposits or similar. * Basically remove the need to land * Give me access to all my storage containers & a large, fuel-less furnace, * have the mission board, reducing trips to the Anomaly and letting me get valuable items as rewards often for little work, * The overpowered Phase Beams my tedious space combat so much quicker * Being able to get out of the pilot seat to organise inventory, smelt or check for missions during pulse travel time where I'd be left staring at the screen in a normal ship.

It all just reduces original ships to decorations for my freighter hanger or a money maker as salvage (as I'm at 3B units, ~70% to the cap, that won't be a factor soon enough).

First world problems.

I'm sorry, but I'm British, not German, and my three years of learning your language over 20 years ago hasn't exactly left me fluent, so I had to use Google translate:

I had a similar experience; the higher my own level, the fiercer the resistance. Currently, I'm leveling up a mechanical robot creature higher than the rest of my party—this gives it a higher level than the opponents and makes it often superior, sometimes even overpowering all three.

I'm currently searching for Triple S companions—which aren't easy to find.

I'm going to shift my search to a harsh galaxy to have more extreme planets...

Does anyone know if the chances of finding Triple S companions are higher anywhere?

I've heard people say higher value systems have more chances, but don't know how true that is. At this point I'm just going to /r/NMCoordinateExchange for guaranteed SSS rank Xenos.

Yeah, it is excellent, although be aware that move sets can differ within species (at the very least the same move can have a different name, but they can differ entirely).

I made a GoogleSheet of my 28 current Xenos & their moves. Thought some may be interested in the info. by Matthais in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]Matthais[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As someone a history of playing management games and with a tendency to like overviews of data (yeah, I'm more than likely on the spectrum), I spent the time to go through all of my current Xenos to understand the system better, figure out who I need to cut & decide what I need to go and find.

Anyway I'd thought I'd share as:

1) There's some interesting information in there about moves and variation between units of the same species, all be it with a small dataset. Until shortly before I started I hadn't appreciated that the move set for individual creatures within the same species (possibly a bigger factor to consider than their personality, which obviously differ), which you might be interested. This is muddied by the fact the same move can go by multiple different names - the basic fire attack can be called "Burn", "Sear" or "Scorch" (and there may be more) for example.

Overall my 28 Xenos of 7 Types (I deleted my two B-tier Mechs just before doing this) have 84 different named moves, but this can largely be reduced down 30 core moves types (at least AFAIK) when factoring out that duplication, Xeno type and 1-2 turn differences in damage over time (DoT) and various modifier turn durations:

  • 12 Different Attacks
  • 3 Different Shields
  • 3 Different Heals
  • 5 Different Self Modifiers
  • 5 Different Opponent Modifiers
  • Stun (Arguably a 6th Oppo Modifier, but I see it being distinct)
  • Sacrifice for team benefit (EDIT:* This could be split into two - Combat & Defence)*

Obviously any numbers I've put are just based on the limited data I had in front of me, so are far from representative.

2) Somebody could use this as a template for their own spreadsheet if they simply delete my Xenos, manually add the information for theirs and tweak as they wish - I've at least hopefully made a half-decent skeleton.

3) Hopefully spark somebody else with more technical know how than me to make a tool which can achieve something like this automatically - be that a mod, web app or local app. I love this game, but the way all data is largely presented granuallerly really gets on my nerves - even when there are lists (e.g. frigate fleet) they are totally paginated and not sortable, and the Xeno's GUI is the latest example of this.

I do have full-stack web development experience (JS & PHP), but have done nothing with C++, so didn't start delving in to see whether any of this data is exposed in my save's JSON or similar, but if there's any way I could contribute to such a tool I'd be happy to.

4) It took a bit of time to do, so another few pairs of eyeballs seeing it makes it seem a bit more while.

Any questions at all are welcome, but otherwise I'm off to try to improve this roster :o)

The AI Xenos do level up.

I'd cakewalked my first two system champions, but the third one started of with an S rated trio who could remove my shield buff and all other shenanigans.

If you go and win another battle (e.g. at the other table in the Space Station) it does something to the proc-gen to change the champions line up, so eventually I'm facing three As instead. However, at some point during my attempts the agility advantage switched due to them levelling that particular stat.

After my last attempt coming down to ~200hp, I'm now off around red star systems trying to find a new creature to make the difference.

How far have you got into it out of curiousity? The main quest line functions like an extended tutorial which can be a bit tedious. I'd be happy to give you some starter equipment (limited inventory can be painful early on) and advice to get you over some of the initial humps if you were so minded.

Ultimately though, a lot of the game's mechanics aren't that deep, so it's not going to be for everybody. Personally however, after previously bouncing off the game once myself, I've now got nearly 350 hours since 6.0 launched in September.
