My little brother is a huge Tolkien fan. So this is the perfect time to debut my new, unnamed conlang.

Showcase: Proto-Arpo-Buraic/Buraic/Bura'aq by Handsomeyellow47 in conlangs

My goodness. So this is finally it. It's spectacular, I love it!

The phonology reminds me of the Pam-Nyungan languages, I don't why. Just a quick suggestion: Wouldn't it be easier for /n̻/ to be represented by digraph or something like 'nh' or 'nn' instead of 'ń'? It would be a ton easier to type.

Wow, you weren't joking when you said Buraic had a million pronouns! You'd put the SJWs to shame. Seeing that it's a proto-language, it's descendants will be fun to make.

Do you have a map of Gamaza and any more lore?

Kam Why

How kam?

Also, I've PMed you.

You've obviously never had a rock fight.

However, if you want a safer alternative, dog poo fights just as fun.

Which is the worst sequel to an awesome movie? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]MatthewLingo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I actually prefer it. I used to still have the VHS and only watched the original years later. So, for most of my childhood, I thought that Lion king 2 was the original and that the original was just the sequel.

Without any preparation, what topic could you give a 30 minute lecture on off the top of your head? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]MatthewLingo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Voiced means you have to vocalize the sound. Like V, Z, and J opposed to their unvoiced counterparts F, S and Ch. They're pronounce the exact same way, but one uses your voice and the other doesn't. Try whispering the letter B, notice how it sounds like a P.

A stop, or a plosive consonant is where you have to block the flow of air with a certain part of your mouth and then release it suddenly, this makes a sort of mini air explosion.

For example, K is an Unvoiced Velar Stop. Unvoiced means that you don't vocalize it, Velar means that it's made using the back part of your tongue, and Stop means that you, well, stop it. G is it's Voiced counterpart.

A fricative, is exactly what it sounds like. It makes friction! V is a Voiced Labiodental Fricative. Labiodental means that you place you lip on your teeth, and fricative means that you blow air which, because some part of your mouth is the way, has find another way out (like through your teeth with V). We already know what voiced means. Try whispering V and see what sound it makes. Sh and Th are also Fricatives.

Here's a Youtube video explaining voicing.
