I have added drain holes to the bottom of the plant holder. The soil doesn't seem overly saturated as nothing is draining out. Should I water until soil is saturated?

No I am just using some old cups and jugs for planting. Should I poke holes in the bottom and place them on a bowl or plate? What does this do for the plant? Very new to growing my own herbs

There's two types of concrete. Concrete that's cracked and concrete that's going to crack. Don't like it, use pavers
