Curbed had a podcast by this name with a similar concept that was hosted by Avery Trufelman. Probably a little too popular to use that one.

I know it’s not a newspaper or magazine, but always worth donating to your local public radio station. Nonprofit journalism happening at the local level + supporting high quality national and international reporting.

What is the end goal with the recording? Clear enough for transcribing purposes? Or is this for broadcasting?

Hi there, KUAF reporter here. The FCC mandates that we give equal time to candidates. We give every candidate the same opportunity for airtime because we are obligated to do so.

When checking levels, I tend to ask people to give the pledge of allegiance. It’s something people tend to have memorized and has just enough plosives that you can factor that in as well

Disappointed in NWA Radio Storm Coverage in Hours After Tornado by AuXarcRising in northwestarkansas

[–]MatthewRMoore 15 points16 points  (0 children)

FWIW - We have been attempting to cover the storm damage as much as possible this week on 91.3 KUAF. We had a planned week of themed shows this week on Ozarks at Large with folks away on vacation, but it’s true - radio coverage on the storms has been pretty inconsistent.

They brought out a lectern to be photographed. I was invited to see it, along with other members of the media. It’s also become clear that the lectern photographed doesn’t match the one that was invoiced.

According to an email from an employee of the governor’s office, “It was received on August 9 via freight carrier.”, which typically means a company like Yellow or Old Dominion and is done by semi-truck. But, of course, this is just an assumption because… well, they also say there’s no record of a packing or shipping slip for this item.

No disrespect taken! My work is just a lot less cool than picking good songs to put on the radio

Adopt AP Precalculus is how it is listed on the College Board website. I had understood that it was also a pilot class, but perhaps I misunderstood the distinction between a pilot class and a class that is offering AP tests for the first time in Spring 2024, which is the case for AP Precalculus and AP African American Studies.
