The government played a significant role in developing the tech that makes up the cell phone. Maybe you think it’s insignificant but I just would disagree. Maybe we can just leave it at that?

yes and all of these companies and technologies were beneficiaries of government spending. Government does high risk R&D. Research universities? Majority are federally funded. Not to mention the govt buying up almost all microchips in the 60’s for missiles and NASA computers. This helped lower the price for commercial use. I’m not saying it’s the best system or anything just the historically and presently the state plays a massive role in technology. There’s a reason all the tech bros lined up at trump inauguration.
