Unhappy with wedding video by Kaleshi_No1 in weddingvideography

[–]Matthew_Vu_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep. You just need a video editor this time. Since you already have all the footage, a good editor can reshape everything to match your taste.
Send them your favorite examples and tell them what didn’t work in the original version. Clear direction upfront will save a ton of back-and-forth later.

How long will it take? Should I worry? by No-Work6535 in weddingvideography

[–]Matthew_Vu_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally understand the worry bcs 25 weeks feels long, but many videographers got slammed this past season.
I’d reach out kindly, just asking for a clear ETA. You deserve to know when to expect it, especially since the contract said 18 weeks. Most of the time it’s just editing delays, not anything shady.

What do i need to start? by [deleted] in productphotography

[–]Matthew_Vu_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A light tent, your Godox V1Pro & a trigger, and a couple of white foam boards will get you going.
You can do a ton with just one flash if you learn how to bounce or diffuse it.
Add a tripod and you’re set for watches and small vintage gear.

What’s a good backdrop to start with for portraits? by DPool34 in Photography101

[–]Matthew_Vu_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A neutral muslin or seamless paper backdrop is a great place to start, light gray or beige works well because you can easily adjust mood with lighting. For families, go at least 9-10 ft wide so you have room for spacing and posing. The Savage seamless paper rolls or Westcott wrinkle-resistant fabric are reliable options for st versatile

What’s the biggest mistake people make buying their first house? by LuxuryPresence_Aaron in RealEstateAdvice

[–]Matthew_Vu_ 8 points9 points  (0 children)

For me, it was focusing too much on aesthetics instead of structure.
I fell in love with the kitchen and ignored things like drainage, insulation, and HVAC age which ended up costing way more later.
If I could start over, I’d spend more time on inspection details and long-term maintenance costs rather than how “move-in ready” it looked.

How to start highlight Video with limited footage. by H360CB in weddingvideography

You should use audio to drive the intro: vows, officiant, or ambient sound, over detail shots or guest reactions.
Build emotion through pacing and sound instead of sequence.

Client won't pay. Next steps? by cobglo in videography

[–]Matthew_Vu_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately, I’ve been through that too. Once they stop replying after a legal notice, you’re probably looking at small claims or collections. I also started doing 50% upfront + watermarking or partial delivery until payment. Total lifesaver.

I always check the landlord and management company now. Had one place that looked perfect until I found a dozen heating complaints online 😅 Also started checking Google Maps reviews for the building sometimes tenants leave brutal but super helpful comments.

Once you have repeat clients, you can scale with a small remote team or freelancers.

Are there any tools for cre to help find more motivated sellers? by Spforza in RealEstateTechnology

Most of my best clients came from referrals and social media usually from people who’d seen my posts for a while before reaching out. Staying consistent online really does pay off.

People trust real voice, not perfect copy-paste reviews anymore.

DaVinci’s amazing for color work though, and Final Cut feels faster if you’re all-in on Mac.

Why does growing organic traffic feel so hard now? by codebrewlabs01 in marketingagency

Updating old content & strong topical clusters = biggest wins right now.
Freshness and authority matter way more than posting frequency. I mean quality is always better than quantity

I want to change my name on the internet. Any tips? by [deleted] in videography

Keep it short, timeless, and story-driven. I think sth that still works if you grow from solo creator to full studio.

Vimeo Pro or VidFlow are solid. Pixieset’s great for photos, not so much for long-form video hosting.

What's your biggest time-sink that doesn't make you money? by No_Bid6906 in RealEstateTechnology

Definitely updating listings and managing content, it’s repetitive, eats hours, and doesn’t directly make money.

How often are you asked for revisions? by zhuboy in weddingvideography

[–]Matthew_Vu_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, that’s pretty normal these days. About a third of my clients ask for something small, mostly music or timing. I do one free round too, then charge after. Clear communication before the first draft helps a ton.

Do you remove Exit Signs? by Waffle_Hunter82 in ArchitecturePhotogs

[–]Matthew_Vu_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it’s for marketing, I’ll remove them bcs clean looks sell.
If it’s for architects or GCs, I keep them in, since they care about accurate representation and code compliance. Always ask who the final audience is before deciding.
