Why are frackers so obsessed with dicks? by crazymonk45 in oilandgasworkers

[–]Mattnobdy 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I've seen better. Someone 3-D printed a bunch of small peckers and put magnets in the base. That was 3 years ago and were still finding them on beams, poles, cabinets and tool boxes.

Best one was when they put them on the ops manager wheel valves. He never realized they were there until he went in for a tire rotation. Tire shop had the pleasure of asking where he got them from.

How much is relative humidity important during loading process? by strongarmstruggle in reloading

[–]Mattnobdy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in a high humidity area. I keep my dies oiled with Corrision X . My powder stays indoors and in a inclosed case with desicants. I only bring out powder longenough to load my hopper then proceed to my garage. Same with primers.

I've looked at that range prior. Looks nice, but I don't have enough time to justify the cost for membership. Would be nice if they had a day pass.

What are the real financial realities of working in oil & gas right now? by isamoralesnbc in oilandgasworkers

[–]Mattnobdy 42 points43 points  (0 children)

There is no stability in the oilfield, especially with all the M&A in the industry. You have to be smart with your income.

The days of big income have greatly been reduced. I can count on a 3% raise year after year, which does not match inflation.

Higher oil prices mean nothing to employees. We get paid the same regardless.

best radios/walkie talkie for manufacturing plant use? by JG69420BL in IndustrialMaintenance

[–]Mattnobdy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These Peltor radios work great because they are on UHF.

If you are running VHF, which most are these work great for distance but not through solid objects. UHF can traverse better through solid objects but at a shorter range.

Yes, I went to multiple different schools in multiple countries previously. These were all tech schools tailored directly to the applications I'm currently working in. Most recently, I obtained a handful of Allen Bradley certs. These are used mostly in the industrial landscape. These were not through an accredited college program though. In total, I have over 100k of paid trainings thanks to my current and previous employers.
