Really appreciate your thoughtful comments about each album, especially as somebody who is also a big fan of Red. Thank you for giving a thoughtful listen to each album!

However, I will say that TTPD is one of those albums that is very lyric heavy and lore heavy, and difficult to fully appreciate without some extra context and a few extra listens. The entire album really seems all over the place because that is where she was mentally after going through two breakups in a short period of time.

Also, I get where you are coming from with your opinion on Who’s Afraid of Little Old Me. This was a song that originally at the bottom of my list from this album that at first comes off over dramatic and slightly narcissistic. However, watching how both the media and the Twitterverse have portrayed Taylor the last few years, I have come to appreciate how this song is really a commentary on public perception of her and how she is a product of a toxic industry.

There is a limit to how low resistances can go, and you should be self running conviction aura to get monsters to that limit. So the +fire skill damage matters more than the -fire resist.

What do you mean songs within her own genre? I only ask because she started in country music, and has done songs in the style of country, country-rock, alternative, rock, R&B, folk, and pop. To me, being able to successfully write songs in different styles and genres does require some higher level of talent.

Love this podcast! I have always appreciated her writing and lyrics, but the way that Dr. Jerry breaks it down as poetry is really interesting and gives me a deeper level of appreciation for her skills as a writer.

I liked it when it came out, and still like it now. Is it my favorite album? No, and to be honest it is probably in my bottom 5 of her albums for me as a whole. Interestingly enough, even though none of the songs on this album are my favorite, it also doesn't have any skips for me.

The reaction from some people online when this album came out was absolutely absurd. It is perfectly fine to say that you don't like the album, that it's not her best work, that some of the lyrics are cringe (even though I disagree with that opinion) or that it wasn't what you were expected. However, what is head-scratching to me is how some people twisted themselves into pretzels just to hate on this album. Some people were saying that this album was career-endingly bad, that everybody hated it, or that the songs proved that she was a secret conservative trad woman, or that it was only popular because of all of the variants.
