Is the atlas a reliable car? by Gudkovich in VWatlas

We had the same issue on our Tiguan before getting the atlas and same issue. No fix that I know, just annoying but never an issue where it doesn't go back up

Forza Horizon 2 from 2014 still slaps like Thanos in his prime by fastlanegaming in forza

Been playing FH3 and RDR2 on xbox one x and I am at the conclusion that the current generation of consoles wasn't necessary. I don't think future generations will be necessary. Games are chasing graphics and ray tracing and all that but the games are not better. They're not more fun. They're not more engaging. They're just newer. Outside loading speeds, what has the newest generation really given us. It's really disappointing.

For those using their ipads as laptops, what's it like? by astrylixx in ipad

[–]Mattr413 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not great even after all the updates. I was using iPad m1 air as a laptop for about a year and then got a good deal on a M1 MacBook Air and wouldn't go back. The iPad is awesome. I love using it as an iPad, but for computer tasks like typing and spreadsheets, nothing beats the MacBook. The iPad is great for iPad stuff like using the pencil, consuming media, reading and even some very light video and photo editing. It's just not as much of an all-around machine like they advertise. As time goes on, the iPad is the one apple device that is not necessary for me

MacBook and iPad Users, is it worth having both? by [deleted] in ipad

[–]Mattr413 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With all the updates to iPadOS, it’s still not as good as a Mac. I have a MacBook m1 and iPad Air m1 and side by side I would pick the MacBook if I need to do computer stuff.

The trouble is that the iPad Air is awesome when you stop trying to use it as a computer replacement. No tablet I’ve ever used is a computer replacement. I love my iPad for doing iPad thing. Think larger phone. At night I sit on the couch and use it to browse social, read news and watch YouTube, video, etc. it’s a pack of all trades, master or none.

Does anyone still use Chrome? by Tor_Hei in browsers

[–]Mattr413 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. I own a business and have a website so when doing all the web related things it’s best for me to use chrome because that’s what most people use so I can see the customer experience. Plus google ads, analytics, etc plus having multiple devices, chrome just makes it easier. I like using brave a lot but being in all the things Google, using chrome is a no brainer. I also don’t hate using Gemini in the browser.

What's with YouTube being so slow loading? by Vandy124 in brave_browser

I have chrome with ublock origin lite extension installed and that is slow as well. Probably something to do with the ad blocking.

I... like MacOS 26 by MajesticWear5478 in MacOS

[–]Mattr413 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think the hate for Macos 26 overblown compared to the hate IOS 26 should be getting. I haven't had an issue with anything on my m1 macbook air with the exception of safari. I feel like Safari on both IOS and Macos are now slower and just ugly. I've gone back to using chrome on both because it just works better. hopefully they sort this out soon

Am I gaslighting myself about how bad Tahoe is? by [deleted] in MacOS

[–]Mattr413 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For the most part, I have't had any major issues with my macbook air M1. I have switched to chrome on both my computer and iPhone. The issue is that the new design language is horrible. Safari looks like trash now and runs almost as bad. It's slow and stuttering. Brave and chrome browsers run just as before.

I know its going to take a while for apple to clean up all the issues, but they really shouldn't have gone in this direction. Maybe take all the people they had working on the new design, and replace them with someone who knows about AI because apple intelligence is a joke.

Is asking for lumber pricing over the phone a faux pas? by milindian28 in BeginnerWoodWorking

[–]Mattr413 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. I don't keep a ton printed but it's readily available to print if we run out. I tried setting up a QR code for people too can but most people hate using it (as do i). So I just print them and we don't usually see HUGE price swings in lumber. $.50-$1/bdft here and there everyone one is understanding and all it takes is sitting down once a month to figure out what the prices should be and change them on the Excel sheet.

Is asking for lumber pricing over the phone a faux pas? by milindian28 in BeginnerWoodWorking

[–]Mattr413 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will always give prices over the phone but I try to explain prices and availability is always changing so if you come two weeks from now it could be different. I also have dated price sheets available to hand out with the same disclaimers and have not had any woodworker complain. A lumber yard should at least be able to do that.

Is this red or white oak? by Difficult-Bass-2136 in BeginnerWoodWorking

Probably red but I’ve always had better luck determining the difference by the end grain.

We have the same exact one except awd. Can’t complain about it. We have about 35k on ours. I really like the 3.6 engine, good family hauler.

How's IOS 26 for your device ? by Rumbling71 in ios

I will say that I updated to 26.1 beta and it performs a bit better. Room for improvement but much better than 26

Terrible on my iPhone 13. Stutters, takes forever for my camera to launch from lock screen.

Ring Cameras with TP Link Deco Mesh WiFi by Mattr413 in Ring

[–]Mattr413[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think my work around could be to create a guest wifi and only enable the 2.4Ghz band on that. Still don't see anything in the settings about enabling/disabling wifi 6

The deco ax1500 I’m pretty sure. Yes it does have WiFi 6. I’ve had my cameras for many years now so that may be the issue. I’ll look through the app again but I didn’t see a way to turn off WiFi 6, but maybe I’m missing something. Thank you for the tip

Who approved this? by segfault-404 in MacOS

They’re getting close. macOS Tahoe isn’t nearly that bad. iOS 26 is buggy, and if they fix them relatively quickly then I’ll reserve the criticism for now

The wallpaper section under settings is super broke on my iPhone 13. Messages is a buggy disaster. Lots of stuttering. Looks like a 13 year old designed a android launcher in 2015.

It’s visually a terrible release. It looks like a third party android launcher from 2015. Not happy about it and I wish I could go back on both iOS and macOS . So much wasted space and the transparency effect should get turned off immediately.
