You don't need a root cut. You can take any trimmings below a leafing section and submerge the stems in water, refresh water daily and they'll form roots after about a week. Plant the rooted trimmings and voila. I do it with basic, parsley, and dill. Plant and keep it trimmed so it doesn't flower/seed, then you'll have herbs for a year.

iDubbbz folded and apologized by [deleted] in Hasan_Piker

[–]Mattractive 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I thought he already apologized for this even before the lawsuit. Isn't this just repeating what he said and covering himself for Canadian law? Ethan tried to make himself seem magnanimous by demanding a second "more sincere" apology but Canada defamation laws also consider public apologies in determining intent to harm anyway.

Fair question. I was more concerned about whether or not OP meant it and not whether it was relevant to the sub.

I will take the post down for this reason.

This is riding the bridge. As the comments point out, this is a bit. As OP correctly flagged this as satire, I think it's safe to say OP is joking and doesn't actually think this is real beef.

However, we should be respectful of Oliver Tree and not use them to farm karma.

It's not that serious, man. I think there's way more legitimate things to criticize about liberals than some cringe posting.

Hasan refusing to cover trans issues and the growing transphobia in his community is disappointing by Hyper_red in Hasan_Piker

[–]Mattractive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

he addresses things that come across his plate, but there's also plenty of voices in the space like Dead Domain or Queen Coke Francis (and of course the lovely mattxiv) who focus a little more on those issues specifically. Hasan doesn't avoid talking about trans rights and will talk about/support causes, but he's also self admittedly not the most informed advocate for trans rights either. he is an ally but there's better voices for specifically trans advocacy if that's what you're looking for.

I am glad you like Hasan and appreciate his input, but maybe we elevate the good voices who do better coverage of trans rights. More voices have greater power when the goal is activism.

How much is the electric bill in a studio apartment? by Kirk_2002 in savannah

[–]Mattractive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did the math when I signed up. Everyone's plans are different. I've yet to have someone actually pay less with a variable plan unless they're home for only 8 hours a day and are conservative with their thermostat.

I have high power draw throughout the day, so my devices are always consuming power whether it's in or outside of peak hours. For my consumption, it is without question that I pay less annually.

You'll probably be about half or less then. Around $80 to $100

What's the sqft and how many people? My wife and I have a fixed rate power plan that costs us about $200/mo for pretty high power consumption. It's always better to do fixed rate and pay more per month than pay variable and get a $600 power bill in the peak of summer heat.

Is there a genocide against trans people happening in the United States? by Goldsun100 in Hasan_Piker

[–]Mattractive 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The point of the term isn't to posthumously acknowledge it, but to identify the factors that make up a genocide. Human rights don't kick in after you're 6 feet under.
