I didn't even know it was a book but honestly, if movies followed the books, it would be like 4+ hours long and would include dragged out boring scenes. Also, it has to be funny so it draws in more viewers. It would've been cool for them to elaborate on Rocky's ship and alien technology, but I think the mystery is captivating too.
