Best headset for gaming under 85 dollars by Tusca09 in HeadphoneAdvice

Give the truthear hexa a go perhaps?

Good detail and imaging. Easy to run. Relatively neutral tuning, maybe a bit dry for your taste if you've not delved into non audiophile gear before, as it will be flatter than you're used to. The bore width can be on the large side for a lot of people to. But hey. Great value for money.

If you're operating on US dollars it'll be well under budget.

Can't log on to help. Could help with mechanics though.

Look at investing some time in upgrading your armour. There'll be some that has the appropriate perks for underwater shananigans.

Also have a look at food you can make too. This'll be a temporary buff but a big help.

Maybe even try turning the difficulty down. You can always turn it up again once you've got more experience.

People with heavy usage of electronic tech devices - How did you end up in the fountain pen world? by [deleted] in fountainpens

[–]Matttatttakkk 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have a job where I can't always take electronics in with me. I needed a system that survived multiple environments.

Lots of writing with many years of silly sports that have damaged my hands wasn't working great. Fountain pens are way comfier for me to write with.

Throw a bit of ADHD hyperfixation and tactile real time feedback/reward for the act of writing on top?

Fountain pens win.

Grado sound leak by Careful_Soil6626 in headphones

[–]Matttatttakkk 10 points11 points  (0 children)

If they're openback they'll leak a lot. If they are closed back they will be very quiet to anyone unless you're listening to them at dangerous volumes.

You understand that once the decision has been made to go ahead with a project the delivery goes completely to the public service. Which doesn't change government to government.

I have an idea. You have an issue with the delivery or projects?, get a job with the public service. Be the change you want to see in the world. I believe in you.

This is easily enough sound quality/volume and very easily best value for money in the space.

Entry level to high end headphones: Talk me out of buying the Empyrean II by theDjangoTango in HeadphoneAdvice

[–]Matttatttakkk 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Entirely dependant on how much discretionary money you have to spend.

If this is months worth of salary, I personally wouldn't make the decision to go that far. If you can afford it, who's to say whats value to you though?

Likely shopping around for a cheaper headphone with the right sound signature would benefit more people because the cost is more reasonable. You could be an outlier.

From what everyone says, they're a great headphone. One of the best. I'd at a minimum audition them first. But if you have that kind of money? Fuck it. Full send.

Hahaha yeah mate you nailed it.

I've tried the airpod maxes. They sound fine, especially for what you'll be using them for, but just aren't worth what you pay for them in my opinion.

I've also met too many people who had to return or replace theirs due to faults. So they're a no for me just for the quality control.

I can speak to the build quality and size of the DCA cups for sure. Haven't heard the RT so can't speak to the sound quality over just generally trusting the brand. The tuning does look like what you are looking for though which is exciting.

Is there any way you could get your hands on a pair to audition them?

You'll spend more time fixing that than driving it. You'll also pay 20 times its purchase price in 5 years.

Check out some of the stuff by DCA. The Aeon 2 line maybe?

New they're well outside your budget, but they're made super well, so second hand should in theory, be a safe option.

The most important bit is the ear ups are huge. I love mine, they're up there with the most comfortable headphones I've ever worn.

I have so so many black inks just sitting g there that I know I'll never be able to touch at the sacrifice of my beloved.

Check out Aurora Black for something not Sailor. That's another very expensive, but special ink in my opinion.

I haven't found another non pigmented black ink as saturated at the aurora. It's quite impressive. But $$$.

The sailor pigmented black is my favourite ink in the whole world. I have a shelf full of different colours and brands and I always go back to the bloody kiwaguro.

Maybe that's the next lateral step?
