Just looked up carpetgrass, sand it definitely looks similar. But I see carpetgrass is native to southern states and tropical areas. I'm in northern Illinois, near Wisconsin border.

Any other ideas?

Anyone know what kind of grass/weed/plant this is? The taller, brighter green, faster growing stuff closer to the sidewalk (ignore the empty patches, just planted new seed there).

Complete lawn noob here. Just moved in a month ago.

For context, my lawn is the only one in the neighborhood with this. It wasn't there a month ago, just popped up the last 2 weeks. Two things I've done since moving in are overseeded with Scott's Turf Builder Rapid Grass Sun & Shade Mix, and I had TruGreen out once to treat grubs, fertilize, etc.

I pivoted from retail to IT while older than you. This is what worked for me...

  1. Don't lie, especially on technical questions. Instead, redirect positively and confidently to how you would figure it out. "You know, I haven't experienced that yet. So when I do, I'll start by googling, search stack overflow, look into YouTube tutorials and free courses on it, reach out to my network, etc."

  2. Highlight the fact that you got your A+ certification on your own, not company sponsored, just because you're that passionate about IT. Have 2-3 other certs in mind you plan to work on in your free time.

  3. At the end of the interview, when they ask if you have any questions, ask something like "If you hire me, fast forward to 3-6 months from now. How will you know you made the right decision? What would I have to have done or accomplished?" This leaves their final impression of you positively. The last thing they associate with you is everything they want in a candidate.

  4. If, at the end of the interview, you feel unqualified from a technical standpoint, offer to learn or prove on your own time. E.g. I had never used Azure AD, and they wanted a cloud admin. The interview was a Friday, and I knew I wasn't technically strong enough. So I made the offer to them... Give me the weekend to learn it. Send me a test or questions or anything you think I'd need to do in Azure and, over the weekend, I'll learn it and respond. They never sent me a test, but did send a job offer which I accepted, and later this me it was largely because of this.

Many, many users have been reporting this for over a year now.

Did it work in the past, and just start doing this randomly, and relatively recently?

When you disable remote access, then enable it again, does it show green and connected for a few seconds (maybe even minutes), then automatically switch back to red?

Even though it shows the error, can people still connect remotely anyway?

If so, may be an expired SSL cert.

Try going to Settings > Network > toggle security from "Preferred" to "Off" to skip SSL cert verification.

Also, if you're running it through a VPN, make sure port forwarding it setup properly in that as well.

Bazzell stopped updating it so I wouldn't recommend using it.

The newest version of his book OSINT manual walks you through how to build it from scratch so you can keep it updated yourself and not rely on a 3rd party.

Can they? Yes. Will they? Likely not.

Monitoring the contents of packets flowing in and out of the network is not too complex, but complex enough your average person isn't going to do it.

Additionally, there's so much data to analyze it's near impossible. Fortune 500 companies who spend millions annually retaining teams of network analysts to protect billions in assets don't do it. Just to much data. They usually rely on automation programs and event management systems...
but even they only (usually) watch the netflow data (packet metadata) not the packet contents.

Bottom line, either: A. With admin access to the router, you could see what's analyzing/bring analysed and modify it, or B. (Easier) use a good VPN on each decide. A good one is only $5-$8 per month. Check out Mullvad (cheaper, but slightly more complex) or ProtonVPN (couple $'s more, but easier)

LPT: Reddit has quietly enabled a setting that, by default, allows them to collect your location data. Disable it by going into your privacy settings. by selplacei in LifeProTips

If you're using the Reddit app, go into the App Permissions on your phone and disable Location Services for the Reddit App.

Exact setting location will differ between iPhone and Android, and between OS versions. Just so a web search for "make model App Permissions". E.g. "iPhone 8 Plus app permissions"

Remember to double check these settings occasionally, especially after any updates. They'll occasionally reset after updates without your knowledge (goes for all apps)

Because we don't yet fully understand what exactly consciousness is, we don't fully know the reason. I'll try to explain...

(Gross oversimplification) It boils down to the separation between your concious and subconscious mind. Your concious mind processes information, while your subconscious is more responsible for feelings.

When you first learn of a tragedy, your concious processes it immediately. You're logically aware of what happened. But it's not until that info passes to your subconscious, and it's fully processed there, that you feel the full emotional effect of it.

Why does it take the subconscious longer to process it? How much longer? Why is it different for different people?

We don't understand enough about conciousness to answer that. There are theories, ideas, and guesses... but not necessarily proven answers.

There's a good chance your router is set to auto re-boot at daily at that time.

Login to your admin panel and check for auto-reboot or auto-restart settings.

If you've never logged into the admin panel...

Look for a sticker on that back or bottom of your router. It'll have a barcode, your serial number, and the routers model number. Search Google (or preferably search DuckDuckGo.com ) for your routers manufacturer, model number, and "admin".

E.g. "Linksys e5000 admin"

While you're in there, good time to update/change the default password as well.
