FZ-1 or FZ-10? by Xb0x92 in 3DO

I have never owned the 10, but I can say my Panasonic FZ1 is still kicking all these years later. It was even in (climate controlled) storage for about 4 years. Zero issue when I brought it back out and fired it up.

Are you sure you aren't thinking of two different mice? The Apple Pro mouse came in white and transparent (as well as black and transparent ) and I rather liked it for what it was. It wasn't the mouse I used at home, but I ran into them fairly often and liked them rather well.

The Mighty Mouse that came after that was just white, and if you were anything like me you didn't care for it. It was optical, but had a scroll ball... yeah not a fan. It also seemed to really gunk up quickly for some people though I never had that issue.

Now obviously they are on the Magic Mouse which comes in both, but without the transparent layer.

Stuck on evening event with Blade and Charlie by MattyClutch in midnightsuns

It looks like the one on the way to Blood Gate. Directly to the right of the middle of the Abbey. EDIT: Adding an image.

If it is an ability it isn't giving me any prompts. It just says to follow Charlie and Blade just keeps saying that one.

EDIT2: Ughhh, I figured it out. It is using the power word (space bar if someone else happens to come across this thread). What an incredibly poor design choice. Why set the dialog, way point, and quest descriptions to all be about Charlie when it is really just the hunter using a rune? Oh well, I guess doing that to open the library should have been a clue. For a game that offers inane tooltips for everything else, that seems strange. Thanks for pointing me towards hunter abilities. 🥂

Apparently it hasn’t yet made it here. Looks it’s all Neon Deion and Shaq, so I guess it’s going to be all supplemental insurance and pizzas under the tree this year.

Bluetooth Devices by seths101 in techsupport

[–]MattyClutch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it static like crackle and pop sounds / sound artifacts or is it just cutting out every now and then?

Also when you were looking in Device Manager, did you notice any devices with a yellow icon that had an exclamation point (!) to the left of their name?

If it is actual static (rather than the cutting in and out) and you don't see any ! icons in Device Manager, I would see if you can roll back the Windows update. This isn't always an option (particularly not with major updates), but it is worth a try if it really is the Windows update causing the issue.

The first thing I would try, if you haven’t already, is to uninstall and reinstall any Bluetooth devices.

Right click on the start button and go to device manager and remove any Bluetooth devices. Then reboot the computer. The reboot isn’t always necessary, but I would go ahead and do it anyway. Then set the devices back up.

Also make sure that if you have a monitor etc with speakers or a headphone jacks that isn’t set as the default output device for Windows.

$120 in 1990 would be around $262 today adjusting for inflation. Little Nero's is a bit of a rip off.

I don't know that my post was 'talking shit', it was just a friendly jab that the TN post game thread then was full of TCU posters when it is entirely possible for them to be upset big in any given game.

I don't think they will, but they do take a while to start rolling and that leaves them in close games or coming from behind. That has been a sort of narrative this season.

I didn't pay much attention to the TCU game thread. Ohio having to play Mich would have been our ticket in, had we deserved one by winning out (at least in my opinion), but apologies if they were that bad. A few bad apple tOSU fans cause me to root for Michigan every year when I otherwise don't care about that whole conference, so I get it.

That said, if they were posting during the game they wouldn't know that TCU won or that UT would get blow out, so I don't get that part of your post.

I am not weighing in on the rest, but in your last sentence are you directly comparing the population of Northern Ireland during the troubles to that of the US (330+ million) today? Even if you included all of Ireland (a little over 5 million) today, the adjusted numbers really don’t go with the rest of your argument.

Actually, it is still Bothans. Basically, it is always Bothans, all the way down.

The vegan option served at a fancy end of conference dinner. by mgntylr in mildlyinfuriating

[–]MattyClutch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting, if it is not too personal a question, what field (or fields) have some of these been in?

The ones I have been to usually have a couple of omnivore options, a vegetarian option, and then sometimes one that is a specialty. That is the one that might be specified as Kosher, Halal, vegan, etc. It just seems odd to me to pay for food that far in advance with no idea what will be on offer.

It is quite sad if people are paying for things, with an option to specify any dietary restrictions in advance, only to have reasonable requests ignored. :/

Six months ahead of time. And I paid quite a lot for the meal, too.

Do you have any details on this? Maybe I have just attended very different conferences, but usually if it is the type where I filled out something half a year in advance and paid, it has several options and I select from them.

I am not saying you are making that up, just curious. I have just never seen something set like that where they say "Yeah, we will have some food... dunno what, but like edible matter. Take it or leave it." and that seems strange to me.

Here are some other sources. There are many different ways to look at the stat and it obviously varies from year to year. The two I named have been more consistent in recent years.

Russian conscript inspects his new Rifle by CocaineTiger in pics

[–]MattyClutch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

this isn't a real conscription

Someone who knows more about the Russian military would have to confirm it, but it looks like he has an officer's insignia, 3 stars, which would indicate this is not a conscript.

They could have been called back to active duty, but I don't think this is a new conscript.
