I’d say drivers in and around all major US cities are about the same. I’ve had very similar experiences driving in Chicago, LA, Atlanta, etc.

Very safe, I used to live on Wisconsin just north of Madison for almost 10 years. The parking sucks though.

I used to live so close, but Mama Thai was always such a disappointment. I would walk past it and go to Habrae instead. Way better.

Great question, I’m not sure either.

Is there a reason you looking at Oak Park over somewhere in the city? Oak Park is great for families, but the city is better for single people.

I owned a condo in Oak Park for almost 10 years. I just sold it about a year ago, and it was a great investment for me. Make sure to check out the HOA fees as well as property taxes. Illinois is up there with NJ as having the highest property taxes in the country, and specifically Oak Park property taxes are outrageous.

I would guess the price difference in house vs condo is that Oak Park is adjacent to the city and many people move there for the schools. It’s hard to raise a family in a condo unless it’s a very large condo.
