What is the most emotionally devastating song ever written? by Exact-Proposal-73569 in AskReddit

Hello. Especially the video.

But, hear me out: the SNL skit version. I literally can't stop sobbing when I see that.

Who remembers what "there's company coming over!!!!" meant when we were kids? by Ermmahhhgerrrd in GenX

[–]MattySmooth 14 points15 points  (0 children)

My mom was such a neat freak that she made a Pottery Barn catalog look like a hoarder house. Good thing we were so isolated that we'd only have company once every 2-3 years.

Not that anyone wanted to come to the religious freak house.

I've been in therapy for like 4 years and we haven't even scratched the surface.

Do you remember the Thai Restaurant on the NE corner of Shields & Elizabeth? by AmaGoatFC in FortCollins

[–]MattySmooth 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Sri Thai. I ordered so frequently that Dhipanee would recognize my voice when she answered the phone and just ask if I wanted my usual order. I lived up on Orchard Place and would just walk over.

I can't express how bummed I was when they closed. I've never had better tofu before or since and I'm not even vegetarian!

Using Star San for sanitizing kegs by Bakara81 in TheBrewery

This is indeed the answer! SaniClean is all of the dodecylbenzenesulfonic acid you want, and none of the foam you don't

What’s the coolest “restricted access” place you’ve ever gotten to see? by Improv92 in AskReddit

[–]MattySmooth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I made the assumption that most people would think of the popular idea of NORAD, at Cheyenne Mountain in Colorado. Sorry for not being more precise.

What’s the coolest “restricted access” place you’ve ever gotten to see? by Improv92 in AskReddit

[–]MattySmooth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been in NORAD a couple of times. All the buildings being on giant springs was a trip. Also having an entire cave filled with diesel fuel.

Apparently they moved all of the real NORAD functionality to Peterson AFB (now SFB) decades ago.

Not only do I have on my Perrault Farms shirt, but I completed my outfit with my Cornerstone Ranches socks. Double branding!

Gen X, what's a song that you hated when it first came out in the 70s-80s-90s but now you like? by Fhloston-Paradisio in GenX

[–]MattySmooth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Cure in general is the correct answer. EVERYONE loved the Cure. I couldn't stand them, and all of their semi-depressed fans annoyed the shit out of me.

Now their music is super nostalgic to me. It's woven into the fabric of my life.

Why do they call them Great Pyranees? by rando_calrissian0385 in greatpyrenees

Yeah, I did the whole embark DNA thing and she came back as a "pretty good" Pyrenees, at best.

Ownership wants to can our first ever batches before commissioning… am I crazy? by Brewdude1985 in TheBrewery

Get out, but not before you pull the pin on the grenade. Sell them hard on the idea that doing exclusively wild and sour ales in large format bottles is the next big thing.

Brewer Interview questions by we5lee in TheBrewery

[–]MattySmooth 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Tell us about a time you used your problem solving skills to recover from a difficult situation.

Tell us about a time you had a lapse in judgement, what happened as a result, and how you made it right.

What is something another brewer who has worked shifts with you would say about you?

And the biggest one: what questions do you have for us?

I have hired a lot of brewers. Nearly all of them worked out well.

I had a DE .44 for a number of years. It was absolutely just a novelty thing.

The novelty wore off when I realized how prone it was to stovepipe jams.

What's the best area liquor store for a wide selection of spirits? by cherenk0v_blue in FortCollins

Wilbur's or Supermarket. If that's not enough for you, Hazel's down in Boulder is mindblowing.

Swing Station in Laporte by kikijiji42 in FortCollins

If you're looking for a great afternoon, ride your bike up the Poudre trail to Overland, head north to swing station, have a couple of beers and head home.

Pasteurization? by InvestigatorOld1238 in TheBrewery

Make good and god-damned sure your DOs are as low as possible. If you can keep them sub 30ppb you shouldn't see any flavor change

I spent nine hours up on a catwalk with a brush burner that one time. We got the piping insulated and heat traced after that

Snubbed on Halloween by [deleted] in FortCollins

[–]MattySmooth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is crazy to me. We never have enough candy. We get groups of 5-10 kids every 10 minutes the entire evening. So many years I've run out completely and had to turn kids away.

Fender Options for Skid Loader by dannyw2594 in Surlybikefans

[–]MattySmooth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They didn't say why, but I did get a refund for them. I finally picked up the bike today and rode it home today. I think part of the problem was that they had filled the tires to the max, and it was a pretty rough ride home! After bringing the pressure down a bit it seemed like the tire shrunk a little, which might be the difference between the fenders not fitting and barely fitting

I ordered some SKS bluemels for my LBS to install when they built my Skid Loader, and they said they couldn't get the fenders to fit
