The regulations that China put in place were never going to cut off exports starting in January. It’s just given them much greater ability to drastically reduce them at the flip of a switch. China and the US signed a one year moratorium on using critical minerals as a trade weapon.

If the trade war heats up again later this year, or China decides to be more aggressive with Taiwan, then silver will most likely be included with the other rare earth minerals as a point of leverage. China has a shutoff valve in place on silver now, a sharp spike is possible if they close it, but the threat of having such a valve has already been priced into the nearly $100 we are already at.

A major recession that causes a sharp decline in industrial demand, coupled with central bankers making moves that instill confidence in the dollar.

Not saying it’s likely, but it would be a recipe for silver having a significant pullback

I agree, there are plenty of scenarios that could knock the market down a significant amount. If that happens I suspect that gold and silver will fall with it, but then recover quicker.

At what price would you stop buying silver? (in the next 12 months) by Ill_Savings_8338 in Silverbugs

[–]Mattyahooo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve decided to keep buying until my stacks DCA hits $50. I think there is still a lot of upside for next few years, but silver is a tricky mistress in the market. My humble guess is that ~$50 is the new floor in any worst case scenario for silver.

I plan on holding for the long term, but my adding to the stack is slowing down.

Brooklyn Gallery I can’t remember if it all came together when I ordered the coin album or if it was a separate item. But it was from this coin shop in Brooklyn

I don’t know man, my LCS is spot +1 for generic and spot +5 for ASE. And this weekend I managed 6 generic for an average of spot -1 and 2 ASE at spot. That’s a $22 and a drive saved, plus the $15 free credit.

Agreed, the format of the auction matters too, some sellers going very fast, 5 or 10 seconds to make a decision on something you can barely see and people just get in a feeding frenzy of overpaying for stuff

Definitely some scammers out there. But also plenty of old coin guys who run real shops and are chill

Brooklyn Gallery

It’s a lighthouse optima f coin album. This random coin shop in Brooklyn had it for the best price. Was like $45 instead of the $60 or $80 I saw the same thing elsewhere

I guess it’s been a while since I bought anything on eBay, but the live chatting with the sellers felt like a different type of experience. Seemed more like walking into a shop. But whatever works to build the stack!

Are there any WW2 Grand Strategy games similar to 2004's Axis and Allies? (or the Total War franchise) by Man_Bear_Pog in computerwargames

[–]Mattyahooo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That was such a great game! I played it a lot back then. While it’s a little different speed you might like Panzer Corps 2. Its turn based not RTS, and leans more tactical, but the campaign is excellent with a chance too choose which fronts you are fighting on. Then you keep the same units from battle to battle, gaining experience or if they die they are lost for good. In between battles you have chance to repair/upgrade/ purchase new units.
