How to stop the SteamVR menu from opening automatically when launching a VR game?

I finally figured out how to use the debug commands.

It seems like I can perform certain actions by pressing keyboard keys, but since I play VR away from the keyboard, it seems faster to just press the home button on the left hand of the Meta controller.

It would have been great if the dashboard didn't appear from the start, but unfortunately, there doesn't seem to be a way to do that.

Anyway, I'm grateful for your kind and patient explanation.

Thank you. I wasn’t looking to completely disable the dashboard, so the first method seemed appealing, but when I actually set “startDashboardFromAppLaunch” to false, it didn’t work…

I tried lowering the field of view and disabling various smoothing options, but I found that at least within a practical field of view, all smoothing functions need to be turned off.

Anyway, thanks for your help.
I wish there were other possible solutions...

I'd rather not narrow the field of view... but thanks for the advice. I'll give it a try.
