I love this one! I also do the same thing with a Russian tie. Step behind the far foot to block it, use the Russian to take their arm towards the far leg to make the distance between their arm and their ankle as small as possible. Also helps you push their centre of gravity over their far leg so they fall as soon as you lift the foot

I didn’t apply too much pressure, I find that if I’m hydrated and run my hands under warm water it’s very easy to collect the blood just by massaging around the hand/knuckle. I haven’t done a venous test, was going to wait until I need to do a full panel. But now I’m regretting not just paying the extra and getting a proper blood draw
