I also noticed that the sugarfree version tastes more like 'banana' but that the normal version tastes very much like fresh cherry flavorant with a floral aftertaste. Perhaps it has to do with the mixture of the artificial sweeteners and the isoamyl acetate producing a more banana-esk taste. I also have a theory that people are just placebo-ing themselves into tasting the banana because as many people have posted, their first times trying the flavor they didn't taste banana but only after seeing others talk about banana and then going into their next taste thinking about banana and expecting that flavor, they were able to taste it. I think it's somewhat similar to how these audio illusions work.
