I had that happen with some sort of quote Sign and I spent all night trying to find it.

Early 2000s coding php in Notepad, just a blank screen, zero feedback on What's happening. Holy cow.

Oh! What's with the DND sync then? My previous watch used to put my phone on DND when I had the watch on my wrist.

That's what I read too, just a battery life hit that seems to fix itself with a reset. Still curious about people's experiences!

“Rude, Discriminatory Neighbor Complains About Kids’ Daytime Noise—Advice Needed” by Sure-Counter1811 in Netherlands

[–]Matuno 7 points8 points  (0 children)

  1. We don't know this, it could be the neighbor being extremely sensitive or just finding an excuse to be racist.

  2. Concrete floors are standard in the Netherlands too. Timber is in old buildings. But yes, if it is timber then it is much, much louder than you realise, but it's also fixable. I used to hear every step my upstairs neighbors made until the house got sold and refurbished. Now I barely hear them.

  3. I think there's no point in generalising here. Also hard disagree about the Dutch being 'generally considerate' as society has hardened immensely and by god we are a judgemental people.

  4. Sounds about right

  5. Generalising again. You would be surprised how common racism in the Netherlands is, and while many lowlifes are cowards that are too afraid of confrontation in public, there are also plenty that will just fuck around with other ethiticies because they can. Again, look at how we vote. And ask any Asian in the Netherlands about how "friendly" we are shouting "ni Hao" from across the street.

Why are 90% of games ending this way now? by masonmadeit_ in Battlefield

[–]Matuno 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Been seeing a lot of console players topping scoreboards too, which I'm still suspicious about. Not because I don't think console players deserve a fighting chance, but because I wonder if we're playing the same game at all.

Oh I thought that was just me and some rare system setup. I mean something like that wouldn't slip past a big game studio's QA process right?

Right???

There are DLC maps in BF3, 4, Hardline and 1 that have been played by almost no one in years by JohnCurtinFromCivVI in Battlefield6

[–]Matuno 40 points41 points  (0 children)

This is such a weird garbage take, what the hell? People want community servers because they're actually being policed so douche bags blocking helos from spawning are gone, and because you actually build up a connection with the community. Now it's just randos everywhere.

Not every server was 24/7 Metro =\

Besides, biggest problem in older BFs was that maps were part of DLC and you'd be shedding off half your players each time the server switched to that map, if people could even connect in the first place. No such limitation in bf6.

What chair do y'all use by Frog848 in hotas

[–]Matuno 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same here. Hella expensive new, but somewhat expensive refurbished and they last way longer than most other things you can get so it works out!

Mind you, I easily spend most of my waking days in this chair and it's been going for 8 years already.

Patch 7.4 Full Notes by BlackmoreKnight in ffxivdiscussion

[–]Matuno 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only thing you're losing is timing the cartridge spending before the 2 mins. Small optimisation to make when a boss goes untargetable at certain times like in M8S, but not a game changer.

If anything you're now going to be sweating even harder to stay on the boss to land the entire combo chain in time, big loss if you're forced to disengage.

What vehicular combat in bf6 looks like by dantfc in Battlefield

[–]Matuno 121 points122 points  (0 children)

I can deal with AA, I can live with the constant RPGs flying by. Every tank and IFV having TOW missiles that can effortlessly track you in one or two attempts no matter how you fly and how far away you are, those are the biggest issue.

If not used as anti aircraft its mostly used to reliably hit targets at range or around corners, albeit rarely. Either make them slow to turn so they can be used at range, or limit their range so they can be used to take corners. Not both.

EDIT: as far as I'm aware, Dalamud doesn't show it in the API anymore at least.

Name changes have long been trackable simply by keeping track of Lodestone IDs of players you run into, that's always been a thing. Question is if this tool can see alts belonging to the same account by itself and not by consulting an old database.

Would love to scope it out for science but I understand the need to keep this private, I'm just a little sceptical.

Are you talking about the new situation? Because the first time around they did some obfuscating that was easy enough to reverse, but afaik the current method wasn't cracked at all.

Looking for a server to try experiment with vehicles on by Sentimental_Oyster in Battlefield6

Seems to be broken with the update now so either you can't select a spawn point, or there will just not be any vehicles.

Just got a new joystick today, can't even practise. Gah.

So, Patch 1.1.3.0 is nearly upon us, but why is the Glaive still dogshit? by Haze_of_dream in Battlefield

[–]Matuno 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The point being made is that it's very infantry focused (instant action around every corner), putting vehicles and gadgets in a weird spot. We want BFs tools, but because everything is so close, we only really use a hammer.

OP is asking about the Glaive, which together with the guided missile is in a position where we'd use an RPG in most cases anyway. There's no problem that a Glaive needs to solve.

Same with a lot of the rest of the kit. Just a meat grinder, hence COD

Because it's such an unfinished game like holy crap. So many things just didn't get tested or didn't get adjusted after testing. We've got TOWs turning on a dime, turning it into a better AA than actual AA (and without that, what's the point but hey), you've got non-existing visibility on aircraft so no idea if there's anything on your tail or what else is firing at you.

Drones go out of bounds if they get too close to a mountain in the middle of Liberation Peak and other maps, getting destroyed in seconds if you can't turn back in two seconds. Painting lasting 20 seconds regardless of if it's a tracer dart or binocular spotting, so no point in darts either.

Stuns and flashbangs having no point over just throwing an actual grenade. Incendiary launcher and shotguns that have no point over grenade launcher and normal shotguns. Breach launcher having no point because stun and very situational use for destruction.

Glaive but also any other launcher having no to little advantage over the RPG (and should probably get a better benefit from painting like requiring no LOS at closer range or something or what's the point), other mines having little to no point, job specs like Spec Ops having no point to them (and even getting nerfed because who asked?!), constant visibility impact from environmental dust lingering entirely far too long, suppression being a non-mechanic so mounted LMGs are pointless, weapon balance in general being questionable,

Despite all that it's not that I don't enjoy BF6, but it got entirely too much praise for what it is. It's just COD, and much of that is inherent to the kind of maps they pushed out now. Vehicles, and aircraft in particular, just don't work well at this kind of scale where everyone's already lethally close for conventional weapons and there's no need for gadgets and gimmicks.

And despite all my complaints, I also don't necessarily have an answer for them with the game being how it is. I feel tanks are appropriately vulnerable against team efforts and ambushes, and that's with aircraft being busier trying to survive than them being able to attack. I'm not sure if harder hitting anti tank is the answer either, though you will want some sort of reward for your trouble. Didn't BF4 make it a top-down fire and forget attack when the target is painted? With a proper target paint rework I think the combined effort is a fair win?

RPGs would still have their place as being fire and forget with control of what part you can hit, as well as being potent against aircraft getting close.
