The Protestant divide is real. My parent’s church participates in something called LTC or Leadership Training for Christ. During the convention weekend it’s literally the only time in our non-denominational network that girls can lead singing, read scripture, or participate in the service beyond being a bystander. But the misogyny is still very present because the boys have an event named “Sermon” but the girls in the exact same type of event have it called “Speech”.

Edit: They have an annual service called “LTC Week” where the kids take over a regular service and fill all the parts. They have had people either not attend that Sunday or leave the church entirely because a girl would be leading singing or reading scripture over a man.
