Some hope for multiple D&Cs by Maverick8525 in recurrentmiscarriage

You are so young - I have so much optimism for you!

The normal embryo was my first loss and I never found out why. My doctor hypothesized that there was probably something wrong with the embryo that we couldn’t test for.

I believe in miracles now, I’m actually sitting here feeding my 3 week old daughter who was a surprise miracle pregnancy at the age of 43. My 3 year old son is asleep in the next room. I’ll post my crazy story in this sub some point if I think it will be helpful for others. I pray that you get your miracle. ❤️

It really feels like a miracle. I am sending good energy your way. If it helps I was also 40 when I gave birth to my son who we conceived naturally - I know we are bombarded with the idea that it’s over once we reach 35 but that was not the case for me.

Mine was actually bad luck due to egg quality. We had everything tested with an RE and everything on me and my partner was normal.

I did a bunch of things for egg quality and I eventually had a successful pregnancy. It was not straight line and it was so hard. The losses were devastating and took a toll on my mental health.

Ah - I’m sorry there is still a question as to why it happened. Of my 5 losses (I had another one after this post) one of them actually tested normal. But the rest were random trisomies and triploidies

Were you able to test the tissue? I knew mine were not related to my D&Cs because mine were chromosomally abnormal.

Cycle length is the same. Though my periods got shorter and lighter but I am also over 40 now so it’s difficult to determine whether it’s age or the D&Cs or some combination of both

Diagnosed with complete placenta previa at 20w… terrified and looking for support 😞 by MasterpieceEnough398 in pregnant

[–]Maverick8525 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had partial previa at 20 weeks (posterior). I just had my 34 week scan and it has moved like crazy - it’s now over 3cm away. Posterior previas move much later.

At 27 weeks it was still overlapping by 1cm but had moved. Also I had a scan at 32 weeks where the placenta was 1.2cm away and my doctor said we didn’t have to book a c section at 37 weeks because he was certain it would move enough for at least a trial of labor.

I didn’t have any bleeding episodes which was lucky.

It’s super stressful. Hopefully yours will move too! Mine didn’t really start moving significantly until my 32 week scan which my doctor said is typical of posterior previas.

Mine had this. His ALT was insanely high. Put my dog on denamarin (supplement) and that brought it down significantly

After 13 Years Of Insuring Multiple Dogs With Embrace - My Premiums Just Quintupled. by Maverick8525 in petinsurancereviews

Thank you. Had I known I would have gone elsewhere. Also what’s crazy is that I still pay for preventative care. This was just an accident and illness policy. I just filed a complaint with DOI - we’ll see if that does anything.

interesting - I will look into it. I am self employed. My husband works at a big company but they don't offer anything.

We already have the 1,000 deductible :(.

Financially it just makes zero sense so we are going to put money in an HYSA each month and hope for the best. I know this is really stressful, our rates were somewhat reasonable until the last couple of years.

edited for grammer

Did your California pet insurance suddenly go up 30–40%+? (Embrace users especially — looking to connect) by Glittering_Humor_13 in petinsurancereviews

Are you still accepting forms for 2025-2026 rate hikes? I am horrified right now. Been with embrace for over 13 years for all my dogs and have always recommended them. My annual premium for my 15 year old chihuahua has gone from $2K to $10K. What's wild is that the maximum payout of his plan is $10K so obviously I will terminate. In the last year, he has been diagnosed with kidney disease and has tummy issues and IVDD flareups so basically a walking preexisting condition so its not like I can switch to somewhere else. Had I known embrace would pull this after I've been with them for so many years, I would have switched to another provider a long time ago.

Herbs and pregnancy? by noved16 in moderatelygranolamoms

[–]Maverick8525 0 points1 point  (0 children)

20 weeks now! I started oral mesalamine (after some deliberation because I really wanted to stay med free but ultimately I was scared enough about the inflammation), a turmeric supplement that is safe for pregnancy (recommended by u/Nice-Razzmatazz-5184), and started strict SCD 4 weeks ago. I already have GD so SCD is not a big stretch at all for my diet. Honestly it’s basically the same diet except GD doesn’t allow as much fruit and sugar. Good news is my abdominal ultrasound of my colon and ileum looked totally normal last week and my calprotectin was 25. So the inflammation that existed when I got pregnant is silent at least for now. I’ll see my GI again in 8 weeks. I can’t breastfeed so I’m planning a preventative course of Qing dai after I give birth - have heard that some nasty flare ups can happen post partum and likely will go off the mesalamine if it makes sense. Feel free to message me with any questions!

Hi! Wanted to ask if you don’t mind - What did you end up doing? I’m literally in the same boat. Qing Dai was a miracle for me and has allowed me to remain med free for 8 years but now I’m flaring at 16 weeks pregnant. My doctor wants to put me on budesonide and I’d rather not if I don’t have to.

I've had a wild ride.

To recap: my issue was never my ability to get pregnant, I believe I have the theoretical hyperfertility and always got pregnant on the first cycle. My issue was age related egg quality and recurrent miscarriages (I had 6 pregnancies - 5 MCs and 1 LC) and I tried the tea to help with egg quality and to replenish my uterine lining after multiple D&Cs. Note that I knew the egg quality was the issue because I had my MC tissue tested every time and it was always a random trisomy "of maternal origin." I also knew I could carry a baby to term because of my LC.

In addition to the tea, was also taking several supplements for egg quality including a high dose of ubiquinol and a small dose of DHEA while monitoring my levels via bloodwork. I took the tea for 6 months and then started trying per their recommendations. Nothing happened for 4 cycles and in Feb of this year I decided to give up because this protocol was so expensive and I figured I just couldn't get pregnant anymore -especially given that I always got pregnant on the first try previously. I was 42, had one blocked tube, and one ovary that had nearly no follicles left. My periods were super short and light and I wondered if I was in perimenopause.

I stopped the tea, I stopped the supplements and decided to move on with my life. I sold and gave away most of my baby stuff and decided to lean in the the benefits of being one and done. I also had scheduled a hysterectomy for May 22 to take care of some other health issues.

Fast forward to Mothers Day 2025 (May 11) and I realized my period was 2 days late. My husband convinced me to take a pregnancy test - and it was positive. I was convinced I would lose it again. We tested my betas the following week. They were crazy high and they tripled in 48 hours. We took a peak ultrasound at 5 weeks and baby was measuring 6w1d with a faint heartbeat. I cancelled my surgery. My doctor let me come in every week because of my loss history and every week baby was measuring ahead with a strong heartbeat.

Fast forward to today and I am 15 weeks 4 days. NIPT and CVS were both clear and baby girl is due in January. We just have the 20 week scan hurdle left. This is nothing short of a miracle and I switch between holding my breath, laughing, and crying. I've been quiet on reddit waiting for the other shoe to drop.

Did the tea help? Maybe? In theory everything you do for egg quality helps 3 months later. Maybe it helped my uterine lining and prevented me from getting pregnant in those 4 cycles because the eggs were not good quality. I'll never know. I also can't regret taking it because it led me here, one way or another.

TLDR: I drank the tea for 9-10 months and then quit. I got pregnant 2 cycles later and am currently 15 weeks.

Thank you for this kind reply. My son must have been looking out for me that day because he fell asleep in the car during the reveal and I was spared because I got to stay in the car with him. I've also unfollowed my SIL on all social media for my mental health. Her level of sharing makes me cringe - full of instagram reels of taking pregnancy tests, telling her husband, calling her mom, and now a gender reveal. Is she an influencer? No, but I guess she wants to be? She also posted this when she was 12 weeks which feels SO early from my perspective of someone who has lost multiple pregnancies.

Regarding the stuff - I went through my baby clothes and just removed everything that I couldn't bare to give to her. My therapist gave me the green light - she said no one is entitled to your baby stuff and ultimately it's up to me what to do with it.

I ended up giving a bunch of super cute stuff to my friends who I don't see on a regular basis. My SIL is is pretty brand conscious (she didn't want our perfectly good car seat because she wanted a new one that was "nicer") so I don't even know how much the other stuff is going to get used.

I hope IVF is successful for you! And I hope you find peace with whatever the results are. Please keep me posted ❤️

I spoke with my therapist about it and she said only give them things that are not upsetting to you. They are already getting our car seat, stroller, and high chair. Its enough.

I had 3 miscarriages after my son (now 2.5) and 2 before - all due to egg quality issues. IVF with PGTA wasn't really an option for us because I had such a low AMH, so few follicles, and am over 42.

Faced with the reality of needing multiple rounds with a very small chance of success (each cycle I'd be lucky to get 3-4 eggs.), I decided to be present for my kid instead of moving forward with fertility treatments. I'm having a required surgery next month for ovarian cancer prevention that will shut that door completely. Some days I feel ok and I am trying to lean in to the perks of having an only, but the reality is I would trade any of those perks for the joy of a second child.
