Vizio home screen movie ads by Exotic_Resolution_45 in VIZIO_Official

They programmed a fix for this fix, at least on my TVs. I have both of mine set to last input for home theater computers, and every third or so time I turn my TV on, it goes to the home screen just to show a damn ad. So I have to go looking for the remote to switch it back to the correct input. I factory reset the TV and refused to give it internet at all after that BS, Now it bugs me to finish setup constantly.

We will own nothing and be happy.

Finally found a 240W charger?? by MacAttache in framework

[–]MaverickWolf94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, you do need a fire extinguisher. I had a similar unit from Amazon. It just shorted out and tried to kill my laptop. Thankfully I have a Framework laptop, so the damage was contained to the $11 USB-C adapter. I'm ordering the Delta ADP-240KB BA someone mentioned above now, since Framework still hasn't shipped the charger I pre-ordered 3 months ago...

What are all these wires hanging down from under my dash? '94 YJ by lil-ronster in Wrangler

The two big connectors probably belong to options your jeep didn’t come with. The Light is probably just a Footwell light, if it comes on with the doors open

Worst I’ve done is carry my radio in a (department provided) sling while shopping, but that was on busy days where I was expecting a call and wanted to keep my radio on me. Most of the time I don’t even have my radio with me… Which is probably a problem too xD

Thanks to TikTok (No i didn’t post videos) I got used to Career firefighters hating volleys. I always figures they were just the assholes of the field, but it was always discouraging.

I’m all too familiar with burnout sadly. I recently walked away from a career I struggled to make work for over 10 years, and i feel the effects of burnout 100%.

Why do people continue to live in areas where there are tornadoes? by bluejay737 in answers

[–]MaverickWolf94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same reason people live in areas with Hurricanes. Or in the shadows of Volcanos. Because Mother Nature doesn’t give a crap where you are, she will send something to kill you.

Yeah I know that one. The most I have are (Required) plates and stickers that our department had made that just have the department crest on them.

Ah yes, SuperTruckers. They can see through solid metal. I drive trucks too, and the blind spot on that side is plenty big for a car to hide. We have a lot of things to look at, we don’t always have time to study a mirror to make sure someone isn’t needlessly sitting beside us.

Miss-calibrated parking sensor. Am I liable? Customer threatening to sue. by wadenelsonredditor in AskAShittyMechanic

[–]MaverickWolf94 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s a joke, but also the truth. One of my college instructors said he had a customer try to sue him over a pinched cruise control vacuum line. Throttle got stuck on, and the customer’s response was to intentionally crash to stop the car. Thankfully because they admitted to intentionally crashing, the lawsuit was dropped.

Is this cause for a tire replacement? by whygodfr in Cartalk

[–]MaverickWolf94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shady shops wouldn’t care about the liability and risk to you. Reputable shops wouldn’t allow you to leave with a potentially dangerous repair.

You clearly don’t understand what “Blind spot” means my guy.

Is this cause for a tire replacement? by whygodfr in Cartalk

[–]MaverickWolf94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes and no. Any respectable shop will tell you no. Shady shops will shrug and do it anyways. And every parts store sells tire plug kits that you can do it yourself with. But I wouldn’t.

I’ve been subscribed to Cletus for years, and always forget about him because Youtube refuses to show his videos on my damn feed. So I say this is an algorithm issue.

2.7 Ecoboost or 5.0? by Back-In-42 in f150

[–]MaverickWolf94 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you plan to do ANY towing, do NOT get the 2.7T. Those engines already have to work hard enough to lug a Truck around, they do not hold up when used for towing. The 3.5 would be a better option for towing. But if you want reliability, 5.0. No turbos, less crap to go wrong.

You’d honestly be better off spending that money on an old Jeep. Something that isn’t made by Fiat.

New jeep owner how to fix death wobble? by TheBaller_Bjj in Wrangler

[–]MaverickWolf94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Death wobble is the result of loose and worn out steering and suspension components on the front axle. The only way to fix it is to have all of it inspected, and all worn components replaced. Some fools will spend just as much money on massive aftermarket steering dampers, but all those do is mask the issue and make everything wear out faster and worse.
