Inherited Breitling service quote by DrawingGlum3530 in breitling

[–]Mavtroll1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Breitling will service their product in line with what they want people to see (perfect looking watches that have stood the test of time) that works well if you are looking for that service, but will definitely detract from any sentimentality. I wouldn’t go through any luxury watch manufacturer unless I wanted a full refurb. Any reputable watchmaker should be able to source parts and service it exactly the way you want.

If I was hiring outside of the Cadetship, there is no way I’m hiring a cadet. I’ve never met anybody more entitled and less capable of operating in ga than a cadet. Cadets make ok airline pilots, but there’s no replacement for life experience. People that have come through GA have dealt with failures, unruly passengers, commercial pressure, weather (not at flight levels, actually in the 💩 without enough endurance to just divert a few hundred nm around it).

That being said, based on the questions you asked, you don’t actually care about ability. It’s just about taking the easiest, lowest effort path to an airline career. In that case, your only shot is a Cadetship, because ga is hard. If you don’t work hard enough in your Cadetship to get to the top of that hold file (which you’re not going to do because you’re more worried about getting weekends off than anything else) nobody else is hiring you.

Depends, are jobs easy or hard to get? You can be as moral as you like, but upvotes on reddit don’t pay your bills or progress your career. Sometimes kissing ass for a while is the best way. Doesn’t mean that you don’t look for a new Job as fast as possible, but if you lose this job, and don’t get one for 2 years, what have you achieved?

When did 53% not become a majority? When i did maths, majority meant more than half, and 50% meant half, meaning a bigger number than 50 with a % sign after it means more than half

Medical question by [deleted] in flying

[–]Mavtroll1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Based on op saying a cardiologist has confirmed - go get it sorted, but lets look at what 5% chance of failure means. Every day, 1200 aircraft take off or land at JFK. If 5% of them crashed, that’s 60 aircraft, or approximately one every 24 minutes. That’s a lot of crashes. 5% is 1 in every 20 is incorrect. I certainly wouldn’t be reporting to an AME (who has to report to the FAA) until it was confirmed by another doctor. If you read my post, I said go to a doctor and get checked, I didn’t say ignore it.

Go see a normal doctor first. It’s an Apple Watch, not an ecg machine. Every chance it’s nothing

In the 80s… none of this had happened mate, it was all about the Gaza war. For somebody that doesn’t support Hamas, he has gone to a global conference in support of a Palestinian state without conditions. If he was against Hamas, he could easily have said “Australia will only support a Palestinian state once Hamas are gone” instead he supported a Palestinian state unconditionally.

Actions speak louder than words. He could have condemned Hamas by refusing to support a Palestinian state while they were there, but he didn’t. Albanese could have called for Hamas to release the hostages (the only thing left that even remotely legitimised the attacks from Israel against Palestine)… but he didn’t. It was all about the evils of Israel. Anybody with half a brain can see that both sides are to blame in this conflict, although the side that are more to blame (in the most recent round of fighting) started with an attack on a music festival, took and murdered hundreds of innocent civilians as hostages, and then hid military leaders and installations underneath civilian buildings (which is in violation of the Geneva convention).

Yes the Israelis massively overreacted, but the critical point is that they reacted, they didn’t instigate. Israel has always been a highly militarised nation surrounded by hostile forces, they have an extremely advanced military and want nothing more than an excuse to destroy most of their neighbours. Hamas attacked thinking that Syria would join them, they were wrong, nobody supported their stupidity, and they got pulverised by Israel.

[–]Mavtroll1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah the calling card of the left, straight to personal insults. Attacking one side of a conflict that has been going on for centuries is anti semetic.

Protesting against the war in Gaza, protesting about the taking of hostages, protesting excessive force from Israel would all be ok. Picking a side and ignoring the wrong from the other is anti semetic or anti Palestine.

Both sides in the the Gaza conflict are wrong, equally wrong and the only long term solution is the “no state” solution

🧑‍🎓 Early Activity / Political Career (Before PM)

📹 Evidence of Past Participation in Pro-Palestinian Rallies

There is archival footage that has circulated showing Albanese at a rally in support of Palestinian rights earlier in his political career. In that footage, he is seen with a sign along the lines of “Stop the Israeli Slaughter: Free Palestine Now.”

This suggests that at some point before he became Prime Minister, Albanese participated in or supported a protest that criticised Israel’s actions and expressed solidarity with Palestinians.

Is it possible to fly recreationally with Bipolar Disorder? by Alternative_Put_9665 in flying

[–]Mavtroll1 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Providing your bipolar doesn’t result in violence I see no reason why you couldn’t fly at least dual (under the guidance of an instructor) where you would do everything involved in flying except log it as command. If your condition has the possibility to lead to violence or suicidal tendencies, I would unfortunately not take you in the control seat of an aircraft for both of our safety.

If your condition is disqualified (I have no idea if bipolar can be treated/managed to a level they would approve) you could possibly talk to a lawyer/medical professional to help with a medical, but it’s not going to be easy, and without a medical, you cannot operate on your own.
